- argoff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The thing about ESR is that he has always been critical of us for not being more friendly to the proprietary software industry and he has always been wrong. And then when things go right in spite of him, then he steps up and takes credit for it - that his BS saved the world. I herd all the same crap about how Linux without "a b c" would never be accepted by the enterprise, and while they were proclaiming it, Linux was ignoring them while quietly taking over data-centers across America and the world - "a b c" came later. Today it's rare to find a company without Linux all over the data-center. In fact, ESR is such a shill - I wouldn't be surprised if Adobe Inc. or Microsoft Inc. was paying him to say this, so as to pressure Red Hat into adopting proprietary media standards with stealth DRM, so they can ram their will down our throats later on. This is just the kind of guy he is.
