- nerddtvg, on 12/17/2008, -2/+125It's all in my "work" folder...
- Dither, on 12/17/2008, -7/+86Thats weird, i would have guessed that for most diggers it would all be in a hidden porn folder.... OH.. i see what you did there.
- thewesterly, on 12/18/2008, -0/+61Anyone else find themselves collecting drives accidentally? I still have about 400GB free (of 750GB) on my desktop, and yet I felt the need to install a 1.5TB drive last week. No real reason. I just like having it. It makes me feel manly.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -1/+50i have mine in a folder on my desktop called "porn"... i hide nothing.
- 9bpm9, on 12/18/2008, -0/+39I went from a computer with 40 GB of HD space to a computer with 750 GB of HD space.
Needless to say I'm down to about 100. - flashboy131, on 12/18/2008, -3/+38one word, porn.
not me of course. - EverTheCynic, on 12/18/2008, -1/+33New Folder (2)
- Khast, on 12/18/2008, -1/+25http://windirstat.info/ For Windows, shows everything on the disk in a nice colorful chart. organizes by folder, then filetype. On the graph it shows each file on the drive, in relation to it's size. And it's free. (Not sure if it's Vista compliant though.)
- sublingo, on 12/18/2008, -0/+20Stream your porn - you save disk space and get to have some variety. If I wanted to see the same woman naked over and over I'd get married.
- TheHurler, on 12/18/2008, -0/+18UNIX - kicking butt since Jan 1, 1970.
- OneLess, on 12/18/2008, -0/+18Doesn't WinDirStat work on Vista? Its website says it does.
- dicer999, on 12/18/2008, -0/+16My prediction for the rest of this thread-
Porn and Torrents galore. - CTK14A, on 12/18/2008, -1/+17I tried to organize my 'Tax Documents' last night... I think it's gonna take a few more days...
- rabidg00se, on 12/18/2008, -0/+15WinDirStat is excellent and simple, I've been using it for years.
- iofthestorm, on 12/18/2008, -0/+14WinDirStat works and is awesome. I wouldn't use anything else. jDiskReport is a bit slower.
- alpharaptor, on 12/18/2008, -2/+16you accidentally your comment.
- Okari, on 12/18/2008, -0/+13I wish I had 100 left. I have 850 GB combined, and now I have to delete stuff every day just to maintain a 2 GB average to be able to download more "educational" videos.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -3/+16$ du -h
- moleboy, on 12/18/2008, -0/+12do you really need 2?
- Kruez, on 12/18/2008, -0/+12I have to agree.
- OnlyGirlOnDigg, on 12/18/2008, -0/+12I prefer windirstat. It has a really good interface that is simple to read and sort.
- Kruez, on 12/18/2008, -0/+11Directly commenting on your own comment, seems a little weird don't you think?
- dekuscrub, on 12/18/2008, -0/+10I remember when I got a 120 GB HDD in 2004, and I thought "this is more space than I'll ever need!"
Boy was I wrong. I have upgraded twice since then, and even now feeling the pinch in my 500 HDD. - dpmcalli, on 12/18/2008, -0/+10Yeah, hes got more than 65534 files
- FreddieD, on 12/18/2008, -0/+10I assumed "Parkinson's Law" had something to do with the internal hard drive arm shaking out of control until it ruins the platters.
- Fmunkey, on 12/18/2008, -1/+10space monger, its awesome.
- Kruez, on 12/18/2008, -0/+9600GB...we're gonna need a bigger boat.
- diversionmary, on 12/18/2008, -1/+10TV shows went from 'hdtv' @ 700MB/ep to MKV @ 1.2GB
- brwright, on 12/18/2008, -1/+10There is a jDiskReport for Windows.
Look here for a couple more: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-disk-spa ... - melance, on 12/18/2008, -2/+10That's interesting. I clicked the "hide profanity" button and the name of your folder was hidden.
- Sp0rAdiC, on 12/18/2008, -1/+9Do the words high definition mean anything to you?
- oblique63, on 12/18/2008, -1/+8I think that 'manly' feeling, is the wood you get thinking about all that porn that you could stash on there...
- DNABeast, on 12/18/2008, -0/+7It would have been much easy to deal with if you'd said 'Duct-Taped'.
- deviouster, on 12/18/2008, -3/+10Anyone know of a Vista compatible app that will show me in a pi chart or just graphically where most of my space comes from? I.e. colored blocks representing folders, from biggest (uses most space) to smallest, sorta like in the image at the link.
Anyone? I know OSX Has one for my friend has it, and now this.. but what about Windows? - lies03, on 12/18/2008, -0/+7It's in my "torrents" folder.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+6sound files are if you start using better quality ones. (because you have tons of space you will never use it up)
- kingfoot, on 12/18/2008, -0/+6disk inventory x
- SteveMax, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5du -s * | sort -n
for directories with more files/subdirs. - inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5It's only true if you have ***** loads of music and videos.
- diversionmary, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5WhatSize
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13006 - GOVATENT, on 12/18/2008, -1/+6a true master does not waste space on an os, right after post the porn starts playing. make the most of the hdd space
- mrinsanity, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5FLAC ftw!
Actually I have a few uncompressed symphonies on my HD that are six-channel 96khz and 24bit. Yeah those take up a ton of space, but I can't have my DVD drive spinning up like a leaf blower when I want to hear all the details in a pianissimo dynamic. - ch40sBr1ng3r, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5i have 750GB of space in my comp right now, and im getting 1.2TB more....just because lol.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -2/+7Before switching to Linux....c:\windows was where my space was taken up!
- specialK16, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5the whole comment?
- Valyn, on 12/18/2008, -0/+5I do the same, mainly becasue the more space I have, the less guilty I feel about filling it up. When I get to the lower 1/4, I have to be picky. I don't like that. Just like my gmail, i dont want to delete things. Just stash them for later.
- PedleZelnip, on 12/19/2008, -2/+6True masters don't have hidden folders, but instead have one big "mystuff.tc" TrueCrypt volume. :)
- rodted2, on 12/18/2008, -0/+4I am currently working on a computer wither 3.5 TB total hard drive space. I have about 500 GB free. I do a lot of HD video and image editing.
- dominickboucher, on 12/18/2008, -5/+9Dude you're so funny (and weird).
