Maybe 99.9% of Digg users won't need this information right this minute, but it's still a very useful tutorial. And now that it's on Digg, folks can tag it and they won't need to sort through 10 million Google search pages to find it later. That alone is worth a digg, don't you think? - neko, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4In before the inevitable: Yes, you can also access this very easily via the gui. Rightclick, Properties, Permissions. You won't have to use the command line if you don't have to.
But if you want to, it can be very, very powerful. The -R (recursive) option is one example. - username145, on 08/13/2008, -0/+0It deserves front page more than LOLcats and screenshots of comments
- ianthepetrock, on 08/12/2008, -4/+3This shouldn't hit the front page. If someone needs to change permissions in Linux, they can google it and have 10 million pages to choose from. 99.9% of digg users on the front page won't need this.
