- perequin, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1oomfoofoo, you didn't get the point. The point is that people have expectations, and the distro that comes with this Dell is not the Ubuntu people expect. The result is disappointment and, maybe, the loss of a possible free software user.
When I buy a Big Mac, I know what I buy, when I buy Nike, I know what to expect, now, when I buy Ubuntu, I don't know what I'm buying. That's a serious problem. - Vadi0, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Too much personal opinion and poorly worded criticism for me.
- perequin, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1oomfoofoo, it should be noted that Dell's Ubuntu cannot be upgraded to 8.10.
- perequin, on 12/31/2008, -0/+0FlyingCaveman, I never used Windows for more than 10 years. My point is not defend Windows.
According to this thread nobody yet was able to config the resolution with Intrepid. It is not only a question of configuring xorg.conf.

The point here is that I was sold a computer that works with Ubuntu and when I try to install Ubuntu it cannot install using the default method. When playing with the xorg.conf file one only can get a suboptimum resolution. That is bad marketing for free software. - Vadi0, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1Quit yapping, you say this on every story.
- FlyingCaveman, on 12/31/2008, -1/+0yeah, the guy needs to rtfm. way to spend 5 minutes with your install and realize its not windows and then proceed to ***** it up. probably just needs to edit his xorg.conf for the non-standard resolution. He should write an article about how easy it is to install Windows on it. NOT! LOL.
- oomfoofoo, on 12/30/2008, -2/+1Boo Hoo. You can run ubuntu, just not the ubuntu all the other fanboys run. Boo Hoo. Buried.
