In other words this will be the first crapware installation on pre-installed Ubuntu Dell PCs. Personally if it will bring down the price like most people claim Windows version with crapware does, I won't mind and a lot of people might not mind also. - rockwithme000, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Any idea on the price range?
- etcimon, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1I hope we all agreed that Ubuntu is creating the path linux should have been using centuries ago. Making the OS easier to use. Ubuntu already has more to offer than Mac OSX ; in a few words : Wine, most default applications needed, and open source software compatibility... it's all we need. To beat Microsoft, Wine needs improvements (.net libraries), but dell offering linux in extra-small laptops that don't need the gaming and other functionalities that we have in Microsoft Windows? a really good start... and an eeepc killer. I dream of a world where Windows software and Libraries have to be portable to open source platforms like Linux. Ubuntu will have won us the OS wars, and to this point it's becoming a political game.
