Debian Package of the Day
debaday.debian.net — The Debian project has started a new webpage called 'Debian package of the day.' The webpage is updated every day with packages from the Debian repository and there is an elaborate description with some nice screenshots.

- schestowitz, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6I think there was a script that actually fetches Package of the Day automatically. So every day you find some new program in your menu. Fun stuff!
- pak314, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2They should called the script Debian Shuffle. Every click of the button will download a random package. Then people can write big blog entries about really how random is Debian Shuffle. And of course the "rm -rf /" package has a higher chance to be downloaded.

- Jukey, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Really cool idea. This could inform the Linux community about programs that not too many people have heard of.
- LebenOjanen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Thank you Captain Obvious!
- dioxide, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3although it isnt always good software, like the package of the day should be, the front page of freshmeat.net is a good place to check every once in a while to see what kind of stuff is being written that youve never seen.
- legendxx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3how come the linux stories that make it to the front page always have the least number of comments?
- donkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5how come the linux stories that make it to the front page still have people digging them?
- legendxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2im convinced that people switch to windows alternatives just so they can tell people they use mac/linux. Its like people who buy hybrid cars then can't shut up about it.
