- StanStutter, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1Try this first:
http://gnomad2.sourceforge.net/
Chances are you'll find it in your distro's repo. - lexarrow, on 10/26/2008, -0/+0It works on Intrepid. Just that there's no need to compile libmtp and mtpfs from source anymore. It is true tough the MTP device if mounted with mtpfs, it doesn't show up in rhythmbox or banshee.
- tiagoboldt, on 01/15/2008, -0/+0It is in the repos, but it's compiled using the old libmtp also in the repos! So, if you want to use gnomad2, it's obligatory to compile first the new libmtp. At least if using ubuntu 7.10. I'm not aware what versions are already included in other versions. Ubuntu 8.04 will probably be able to use it without this workaround.
- tiagoboldt, on 01/13/2008, -0/+0LOL, wtf?
Sure does work! I've used it to send all my photos, musics and videos to my zen! And yes, compiling amarok with the new libmtp, has you explain, _also_ works, but, I'm sure, there are many like me who just want to browse their device. And definitely don't want amarok on their clean gnome desktop. I didn't! Thats the reason I've wanted to do this.. The right way! Just have my device mounted on a folder..
And chill out! I've wrote this for those who do not want amarok! To also help people understanding what they are doing! Not just ./configure && make && make install.. Help them. I'm sure this will help many, who are interested to get their device to work.
So, please, don't you just garble away. - narehart, on 01/13/2008, -0/+0nice try but it doesn't work. if you want to use your creative zen with Amarok, follow my guide here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=662567
