- matheweis, on 10/29/2008, -0/+0These instructions are only good for Debian or Ubuntu. If you have another operating system, you will need to download and compile libicns (which includes icns2png), from http://icns.sourceforge.net/
On a Mac, there are many ways to convert icns icons to png images, using utilities such as
Icon2PNG http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11572
ICNS to PNG http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/25890
On a PC, your choices will be more limited; you can try
IcoFX http://icofx.ro/
(Which let's you edit mac icns files and save them as PNGs.)
Finally, regardless of the operating system, if you only want one or two icons, there are online conversion programs such as:
iConvert http://www.eisbox.net/iconvert
ConvertIcon http://www.convertico.com
