Conky Puts Lightweight Ambient System Stats on Linux Desktop

lifehacker.com — It's not a new app—in fact, it's pre-packaged for most Linux distros by now—but we've (surprisingly) never given Conky a featured post before, and it well deserves one. CPU/memory/process watcher and can keep track of your unread IMAP mail, show what music's playing right now.

  • weizbox, on 10/23/2008, -0/+2It's a great package, but the article is kinda weak. No example configs... just brief description.
  • disappointed, on 10/23/2008, -0/+1It's a good app but it's a PITA to get it configured nicely. If, like me, you change your theme fairly often, you'll find it's more trouble than it's worth.
