Clonezilla - the holy grail of disk imaging software

clonezilla.org — I've been using this in our shop for a few months now and it is by far the best cloning software I've ever used. You can opt to just use the live cd to create and restore images to an external hard drive, or go all out and install it (with DRBL) on a Linux server for network deployment. No more preconfiguring individual machines one at a time.

  • nanostream, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Clonezilla is awesome! I deleted my windows recovery partition and just keep a fresh install Windows XP image on my /data partition. Restoring it takes only 3-5 minutes compared to 1 hour with the recovery partition or CDs.
  • jakobrowning, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I should also mention that unlike the dd command, you don't have to use this tool with a text interface, just a simple to use wizard.
