- Kingoftherings, on 05/03/2008, -0/+2I really want that OpenSuse theme, I wonder if I can get it on Gentoo...
- puelocesar, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1Hi, anyone knows if there are packages for EeePC hardware on OpenSuse 11? I`m interested in testing this Opensuse 11 on my eee, but I could only find the precompiled packages for opensuse 10.3
Oh, and one more time I have to say that this Opensuse new installer shows that QT4 is an awesome toolkit! man, css styling on a c++ application! that`s sweet :)
thanks - brettalton, on 05/03/2008, -1/+2Looks pretty enough, but does it support webcams for instant messaging? If not, then I'm afraid they've only improved aesthetics.
- ksoul, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1I agree. Kopete and Skype both with with webcams beautifully. You can even download various drivers from the repos (on 10.3 at least). Bottom line, before you purchase ANY hardware that you plan to use with a linux distro, make sure you research it.
Webcam incompatibility IS more of an application issue vs a distro issue. - ksoul, on 05/03/2008, -0/+1The best simply keeps getting better! Keep up the great work, devs!

(direct download link for the x86 install DVD. Remember to use bittorrent first) - joshr04ca, on 05/06/2008, -0/+0Of course it depends on the webcam that you are using but with my experience with Logitech's webcams and going back all the way to the "Zoom" versions there are no problems running OpenSUSE and using it with Kopete and Skype 2.0, works with no configuration changes. Some of the Microsoft webcams may require for you to install a certain driver but that is pretty easy to do with YaST.
