- Vadi0, on 04/15/2009, -1/+10Cool stuff. Wish I had more time in a day ;)
- midtown, on 04/16/2009, -1/+10Yes as others have said, alphas/betas aren't for the faint of heart. And if you do encounter problems, please file bug reports so the issues can actually be fixed.
- coldkill3r, on 04/16/2009, -1/+8Does anyone have any sites/good tutorials to learn the inner workings of the operating system?
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -3/+9Don't like bugs? DON'T BETA TEST!
- reKONG, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6agreed, why do you think apple are stealing bits of linux and putting it in os x (which is built for usability). I wonder where their idea for 'spaces' came from?
- korvins, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6Man you are so outdated. Linux is now easier than Windows in many things.
Linux evolves slowly, but Windows has not improved usability since 2000, so Linux catched up and since it has not monopoly it made efforts to improve over current technology.
Give it a try and you will be able to appreciate that any OS nowadays just works for most of the tasks. - Warll, on 04/16/2009, -0/+5How deep do you want to go? Heres a link to view the linux kernel source code if you want to go really deep: http://lxr.linux.no/
Otherwise you could try the manpages. Actually you have not made it all that clear what exactly you want to learn. - midtown, on 04/16/2009, -1/+6And don't forget about the "Session Logs" section near the top right, where you can view full logs of the previous sessions of past Open Weeks!
- midtown, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4There is no need to be skeptical or wonder; there are full session logs on that page for the previous OpenWeeks.
- onyxrev, on 04/16/2009, -1/+5Always back up before trying a major upgrade, particularly to an unstable version.
- jakswa, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4Ah, thanks! Didn't notice the logs on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOpenWeek (not on the page this digg article is for).

learn by worked example - fluvio, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2i buried you, brownie
- energyblue, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1Surely you mean Linux is hard for Windows users?
- managedspaces, on 04/21/2009, -0/+1Have the previous release running now for about 8 months on my better half's PC it does have a few usability issues if your used to Mac or PC but overall it is damn stable, well Linux what can you say it just works.
- Xalorous, on 04/16/2009, -2/+3should have used a live cd
- qbthemc, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1You forgot to say Linux isn't easier in this lifetime.
- JudgeDredd, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1What are your problems? I only have minor issues with it. At this point you might as well just do the updates for about a week and wind up with the official release.
- BrownieMix, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1I have used that feature. I'm mostly experiencing issues with Compiz, java, and flash.
- Vadi0, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOpenWeek
- grimfandango, on 04/16/2009, -1/+1@korvins whatever. like most linux fanboys, you've misinterpreted my point. I never said it hadn't evolved, but the overall experience is still lacking.
@reKONG it took Apple to make linux cool. OS X is proof linux could be great for consumers, but it can't do it on it's own. - JosedeNoche, on 04/16/2009, -0/+0weeel, maybe your right in terms that the new Update doesn't fit ya, on the other hand, its quiet a good idea to downgrade to and older version without needing to reinstall all your packages and files
- jakswa, on 04/16/2009, -4/+4sounds good, but I'm skeptical at how articulate an information session can be, if it uses only IRC?
- JosedeNoche, on 04/16/2009, -0/+0i haven't learned to used very well my IRC, but i guess is time to do so
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+1Geeks playing tennis, oh you so crazy..
- BrownieMix, on 04/16/2009, -6/+2I'm having nothing but problems with the 9.04 beta.... I wish I could downgrade to 8.10 without having to reinstall all my programs and back up all my files.
- Nosyn, on 04/16/2009, -6/+1Google?
- BrownieMix, on 04/16/2009, -8/+0I dugg you up
- grimfandango, on 04/16/2009, -15/+4Linux is great for professionals, or anybody who takes the time to learn it, but it still sucks for consumers. It's been like that for far too long.
- TrancePhreak, on 04/16/2009, -18/+1RTFM!
xx doesn't support that, install yy instead!
rm -f ~./ will solve your problems!
I think we have a case of PEBKAC
Just install wine and....
NO NO, use Cedega! - dawhitfield, on 04/15/2009, -24/+1First (yep, I'm that guy!)
