- nerddtvg, on 09/17/2008, -2/+18I enjoyed the article, but don't really have a comment to mention (besides a reply to you). Sorry.
- linuxpenguin, on 09/17/2008, -2/+11Dugg because it's interesting. . . but I want to point out that this really isn't new. The article's a few months old already, and much of this is just how realtime systems work in general.
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -5/+14To answer my critics, only 50 out of 250 friends dugg this article and rest were non friends. If you think you there's a great article, go ahead and submit it, digg is open to all, theres no gaming going on here.
Stop whining like little babies for God's sake and submit instead of criticizing. If you do critize, it should constructive and not trolling all the time, please get a life.
I getting sick of these trolls who visit digg after 2 years or once in a while, don't have bio or picture, don't submit and criticize like they are heavy digg users. Geez - Narbo, on 09/17/2008, -0/+8Props for getting an actual tech article containing good educational tech material to the frontpage.
@haters: Try learning something other then lolcat and whats on tmz.com so that you might actually make something useful out of yourselves one day. - Chickenlip, on 09/17/2008, -12/+19117 diggs, and I'm the first comment?
Who the hell is digging this *****? How is it that Digg users even care what a linux rt kernel is? I smell a fish! - fatlip, on 09/17/2008, -2/+8everyone's too busy man'ing to comment
- cawpin, on 09/17/2008, -3/+9It couldn't possibly be people blind digging optimusprime01's stories so he does the same for them.
- pprkut, on 09/17/2008, -1/+6Dugg for interest, not for Linux.
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -0/+5Yes, out 177 diggers for this story, 50 came from my friends. I hope this answers your question.
Digg algorithm favors diversity, so no gaming going on here.
If Non Friends diggs > friends digg = FP - latrosicarius, on 09/17/2008, -0/+5I love IBM's site. they always have badass articles
- mrsteveman1, on 09/17/2008, -0/+5Digg isn't using a RT kernel, the comments just haven't caught up yet :D
- arjie, on 09/17/2008, -2/+6I dugg the article because it was interesting and I thought it was a nice thing to share. However I have insufficient knowledge to actually talk about real time linux architectures.
- jsauter, on 09/17/2008, -1/+5I thought the first part of the article was really interesting. I now know the difference between soft and hard real-time systems. I can actually use that at work.
Not sure why everyone is complaining that the story was useless. Guess maybe it is to them... - danielwsmithee, on 09/17/2008, -0/+3True but it doesn't need to be new to interesting and worth digging.
- cowninja, on 09/17/2008, -0/+3http://digg.com/users/mindracer/history/submission ...
I don't see anything related to the content of this article. I have read it but do not have anything to comment about.
Life exists beyond digg. - dougle, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2"they make valid points" get over yourself!
It's because the comment is complete crap. (crampy you have the worst comment history i have ever seen) - crampy20, on 09/17/2008, -1/+3"Stop whining like little babies for God's sake and submit instead of criticizing."
What your saying sounds pretty whiney, can't take a bit of criticism without having a fit and starting to name-call?
"If you do critize, it should constructive and not trolling all the time, please get a life."
I think criticism that people are gaming the system is constructive. And just because someone dares criticize the mighty optimusprime, it doesn't mean they have no life & are trolling. I think someone has a bit of a God Complex & high opinion of himself...
"I getting sick of these trolls who visit digg after 2 years or once in a while, don't have bio or picture, don't submit and criticize like they are heavy digg users. Geez"
You are physically sick because of people criticizing you on the internet? My my, someone needs to reevaluate their priorities in life.
(So If i upload a picture of some gumpy action hero I can criticize you can I? Or I say DE3TH T0 3LL N00BBESE, like im really cool or something) - obsaysditto, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2whoever dug this down didnt get the joke
- mrBitch, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2are you "knew" here?
- seraph582, on 09/17/2008, -3/+5Excellent/Interesting reading! Takes me back to my Operating Systems class back in undergrad CompSci.
- cgbspender, on 09/17/2008, -0/+1Great article. I'd guess there is much more to real-time linux, but its a good start.
- linuxpenguin, on 09/19/2008, -0/+1Just because it's interesting and worth digging doesn't mean you can't just digg it rather than reposting. . . I'm certain this has been on Digg before.
- latrosicarius, on 09/17/2008, -1/+2buried for asking to be dugg
- MWeather, on 09/18/2008, -0/+1"Digg algorithm favors diversity, so no gaming going on here."
How does the algorithm favoring diversity mean you can't also game digg?
Do you honestly expect us to believe you're unaware of the numerous scripts and services set up to do just that? It's one thing to expect us to believe you're not being paid by these services or are not utilizing these scripts. But expecting us to believe you're unaware of them? Puhlease. - mindracer, on 09/17/2008, -5/+5u know it sucks i submit many interesting stories with no diggs, yet this guy gets 110 diggs with no comments and gets on the front page.. do i have to make friends on digg to get noticed? if so, that sucks
- danielwsmithee, on 09/17/2008, -1/+1The number of real-time embedded developers is quickly approaching the number of traditional desktop software developers in this country so I can easily see this being of interest to many people. One of the most interesting artilcles I've read on digg in a long time.
- freezerburn666, on 09/17/2008, -2/+2ha ha no friends :P jk.. i have none either *sob*
- crampy20, on 09/17/2008, -2/+1No ***** sherlock
- crampy20, on 09/17/2008, -2/+1Its always good to see people just digging comments down even though they make valid points. This incredibly anonymous form of social control is quite crap. Trying to sweep things under the rug just because you dont like it.
- frequentFlyer, on 09/17/2008, -2/+1Ya know, I was just kicking back looking out my office window wondering about the intricacies of real-time linux architectures.
Nah I'm just kidding. wft lol - aircool, on 09/18/2008, -3/+1Or, use windows.
- pewpewarrows, on 09/17/2008, -8/+4Front Page Promotion Algorithm: Working as Intended.

(Please digg up this user's submission of the same article from half a year ago, and bury optimusprime01's, as a sign of protest of these shenanigans) - MWeather, on 09/17/2008, -7/+2"If you think you are great, go ahead and submit it, digg is open to all."
Exactly. Everyone can game the system, not just optimusprime01.
So stop complaining, and get gaming!
Edit : Did you seriously use the qualifier "only" when referring to the 50 people you got to dig this?As in "only" 1/3 of the article's diggs? - Garciat, on 09/17/2008, -8/+1Ok... can I haz cheezburgerz?
- Unyoked, on 09/17/2008, -8/+1I already new most of that.
- crampy20, on 09/17/2008, -10/+1Made popular 8 Minutes ago and its got 178 diggs, considering how awful that article is, its clear that people are gaming the system. Its pretty pathetic...
- twertyto, on 09/17/2008, -14/+3Buried for being too boring.
I agree with Chickenlip. STOP GAMING THE SYSTEM YOU ***** *****!
