- YodaJones, on 11/17/2008, -0/+7If Adobe had any balls they would be porting PhotoShop and Illustrator to Linux. Now that's a upgrade I would buy!
- YodaJones, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5Actually I did buy Adobe's full Production Suite. Now I would like to run it natively on Linux (Ubuntu or Fedora) without Wine or a VM. And yes, I would PAY for this.

I've run 64-bit Linux on my desktop in the past, and the lack of a 64-bit native Flash plugin never stopped me from viewing online videos.
Most distros allow you to use their built-in package managers to easily install 32-bit libs and bins alongside 64-bit apps, so as a fallback you can at least run 32-bit browsers for Flash and other plugins that don't have 64-bit native equivalents. There's also this:

You need flash for 98% of all online videos. Not having access to that, is a big turn off from 64 bit Linux on desktops at the moment. Which is a shame and pity.
32 bit Linux is still awesome though :D - cheeseplease, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3I would buy PS for Linux.
- doubad, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3About time!
Thanks Adobe - Ecstasy, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/r ...
More info on Adobe's Lab site - Samuraizero, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2It would have been awesome if it had been done some years ago, but even so, kudos to Adobe.
- Nephersir7, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2When can we expect Dreamweaver and Photoshop Linux ports? Games put aside, these are the only reasons for my dual-boot.
- satcomer, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2Wow. Hopefully it won't such as much as Flash does on an OS X Mac, talk about a resource hog.
- cheeseplease, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1Thanks Adobe! Great move, I'm sure the full community is grateful for this decision.
- madwaxer, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1There is hope for my AMD64bit laptop again.
- Cooluser23, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2Awesome!!!
Next step is to release Adobe Creative Suite 64bit for Linux. Start now, it might take a while.
I can't wait for a Linux distro "Adobe Creative Suite edition", or Ubuntu - Adobe Creative Suite edition.
For people who do a lot of graphic design work, there is no reason to pay tons of money for Windows Vista / 7, if all they need is an infrastructure to run Adobe Creative Suite. (and the occasional internet surfing, for which Firefox is great)
Besides, it might beat Adobe Creative Suite 64bit for Mac to market. - inactive, on 11/18/2008, -1/+1That's real nice for linux but it's a dumb move for the other 98% of the market.
- Lobais, on 11/18/2008, -1/+164bit flash was always a great selling-point for gnash though.
However awesome to see a large company releasing something for Linux before those other systems. Not even Google does that!
(Of course I don't know anybody using 64-bit on windows, but at least half of the people I know use it on Linux) - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -6/+1who are you kidding? People don't buy PS on Windows let alone will they pony up for it in Linux.
