- ubuntudemon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I have just registered with digg so I'm not very familiar with protocols.
I have clearly said in the description "This is my new blog". So it's totally clear that I'm self-promoting my blog.
I didn't want to offend anyone. I though self-promoting should be okay as long as it's clear. - ubuntudemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Thank you for your kind words.
I couldn't find anything about self-promoting being wrong on the FAQ indeed. - bettermentflux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Digg is a news site. What the submitter has done is no diferent from any Press release and he shouldn't be made to feel like he needs to apologize for it.
Here is a link to the Digg faq page: http://digg.com/faq. Nowhere on there does it suggest that it is against either the site's rules or the community standards to submit your own efforts.
Spam is bad. This is NOT spam. - dle5, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Oh *****. Digg is supposed to be a uber-free place where the people, not moderators or a few uptight posters, decide whether his self promotion is valid.
- ubuntudemon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Sorry that last comment failed.

I added something about ubuntuforums.org because I didn't know whether Digg readers where familiar with it. If there is some way to remove it from the description I would gladly do so.
I'm sorry if I have offended anyone. This was not my intention. - Bogtha, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2> I have just registered with digg so I'm not very familiar with protocols.
In general, it is a mistake to jump in and start self-promotion in a place you are not familiar with. Lurk for a bit first so that you can get up to speed on what is acceptable and unacceptable. This goes for Digg, Usenet, mailing lists, forums, etc. - veza, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3I love ubuntu, no offense. But self-promoting also known as "spamming" is not nice :(
Plus spamming your community's url in description (what is, a real useful source for Ubuntu) is kind lame..

What is Digg?
