- johnnykwest, on 11/13/2007, -0/+6Sometimes the features and performance of an offline or desktop blog editor are better than their online counterparts. I can't stand Blogger's online editor for instance. Plus it sometimes acts up with the proxy server here at work and I lose posts. I use the editor that comes with the Flock browser. It's pretty much like ScribeFire for FFox but it pops open a completely separate window on your desktop instead of eating the bottom half of your browser. To each his own.
- Dankoozy, on 11/13/2007, -0/+5c'mon no CLI editor? that sucks. I always come up with wonderful ideas to blog about when i'm using the command line
- TeeDeeNL, on 11/13/2007, -1/+4Correct me if I'm wrong but afaik every blog-platform has an online editor. Why install other stuff?
- mimps, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Thingamablog is another good option. Works on all platforms.
- johnnykwest, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2It appears you can blog from Vim.. dunno if that's what you're looking for exactly. (http://blog.tquadrado.com/?page_id=146)
- schestowitz, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2A combination of KWrite/Kate with syntax highlighting works well for me, but it's not blog-oriented, for which a UI like WordPress works perfectly well.

- rohitbrai, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1But you missed out my favorite and I think one of the most fature rich... "Flock" It has many other features that make blogging a breaze, like integration with Flickr and photobucket for example and I can right click on any page in the browser and blog about it.
- CaptainHarlock, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1The Firefox extension and Google fall under cross-platform. The article also smells of Ubuntu fanboy.
- wenshu, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0I use GMail as my blog frontend for blogspot, It's very nice.
- wonderpants, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1i didnt know that about google docs ( i am new feature blind) but i was looking for an offline editor for Ubuntu, thanks
- momsshizzle, on 11/13/2007, -5/+0Hmmm, I don't see the 5 Useful Desktop Blog Editors for Windows Users article. Buried for Linsux crap.
