- php4me, on 09/23/2008, -0/+4Good article. I'll use Quanta over GEdit though. Having "Add Folder To Top" in the file browser is a killer feature for me. Also having the LAMP stack right there is crucial for fast web dev.
Other tricks:
1) "Place Windows" in Compiz, useful for Pidgin etc.
2) "Avant Window Manager" good for when you have a ton of workspaces, to have a small list of all open apps.
3) If you have two buttons on the side of your mouse, I suggest mapping those to switch workspaces left/right. Makes going between your editor and browser very fast. - Vadi0, on 09/24/2008, -0/+3Geany for me. But this is a pretty good article on how to pimp gedit: http://www.micahcarrick.com/09-29-2007/gedit-html- ...

- num3thod, on 09/23/2008, -0/+2This article describes exactly what I have been doing lately. Needless to say, productivity went up paramount.
Other trick:
- XAMPP virtual host on the vboxshare. For seamless multiple browser dev/testing across Windows and Ubuntu.
