- gilbert42989, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6A linux based operating system may not be the best choice for everyone but you can't beat its price and community.
- sarixe, on 07/18/2008, -1/+6hasn't this been said before?

Sounds like a good reason to convert. - jokr004, on 07/18/2008, -1/+3"rarely needs rebooting (i.e., restarting)"
Was the parenthetical explanation really necessary there? - inactive, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Here's the google cache just in case:

Thanks - stutimandal, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1I disagree that they are converting their systems from Windows to Linux. I will say "Replace your OS by Linux." rather than convert. Convert has this implication that you are transforming one object into another. You convert paper into a book, or you convert newspaper into a paper plane. But you replace Goodyear by Michelin, etc.
- ToadLeg, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2dugg because people need to stop saying "I converted my mom to Linux" etc. because it sounds like they're talking about a religion. (even the poster above you said "convert many people")
However, although the meaning of (what it is that should) "convert" in the title is vague, it is described properly in the first sentence of the article:
"Businesses, educational institutions, governmental agencies and other organizations around the world are converting their computer operating systems from Microsoft Windows to Linux"
They're converting "their computer operating systems," not people. Excluding the title, which is only a problem in the context of how people misinterpret it, the article is very well written, from a business perspective instead of the way some of these are - "it's like free, so you're not being held down by the man, and penguins are cute, so come on dude". - U83RMENSCH, on 07/18/2008, -2/+2These are good reasons for a business to switch to linux. I dont think these reasons are gonna convert many people. While I dont see general public all rushing to download the latest copy of Fedora ( or more like buy a copy of ubuntu from best buy :P ) , I'd still like to see it happen.
