- Spr0k3t, on 09/09/2008, -0/+5Perhaps it's me, I can't see Amarok as an alternative for WinAMP. Even though the development has all but stopped on it, I'd have to say XMMS is more of a WinAMP replacement than Amarok. Amarok is almost completely different from WinAMP offering much more functionality than WinAMP provides. Hell, even itunes is having problems competing with Amarok in some areas.
- smotpoker, on 09/09/2008, -0/+4I agree, amarok is way better. They probably just mention winamp because it's so well known. For an actual winamp equiv audacious and bmpx are both similar in functionality, interface, number of skins and they are still supported :P

- frontporsche, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3I was expecting to see a list of free Windows programs, which I could use when I don't have access to a Linux system.
- mesarah, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Most of the times we are in the search of free alternatives and that will be good enough for the required purpose. I think this list is really great and help us to find few great alternatives. Thanks for sharing

- JerichoCane, on 09/09/2008, -1/+0Can you read? No? The article talks about alternatives "... for Linux", and most of them also run on "Windows." That wasn't so hard, was it?
- JerichoCane, on 09/09/2008, -5/+1How many more meaningless "x Linux alternatives for Windows programs" posts do we have to endure? There's Linux software that'll do the job, and software that won't. That's it.
