- phpchris, on 03/21/2008, -5/+57Wasn't this on the front page just a few days ago?
- z3r0c0O1, on 03/21/2008, -13/+39The Leafs suck
- mwomorris, on 03/21/2008, -5/+27For the record: That was the only goal he let in.
We won 3-1. - TomK88, on 03/21/2008, -3/+23The joys of being a Leafs fan. :D
- MacDevyn, on 03/21/2008, -1/+18The reason why the ice was so poor that game was that the day before there was a circus in the stadium, the ice wasn't redone for the game and made the puck bounce a lot. Leafs still won the game 3-1 with an empty netter goal, i still think that was pure luck. Not many people can catch a bouncing football, now try catching a hockey puck which is much smaller and is on ice.
- lostprophet23, on 03/21/2008, -6/+22this is already on digg and has 1100+ diggs
http://digg.com/hockey/Hockey_Player_Scores_from_2 ... - chanop, on 03/21/2008, -2/+16It was on the front page 2 days ago
- poolqueue, on 03/21/2008, -1/+13yup
- jessestorm, on 03/21/2008, -1/+13Truth be told, the circus had been in town the day before, and the ice was new, making it sticky. The puck bounces more on sticky ice and made this long shot even trickier.
- VonCali, on 03/21/2008, -2/+12I bet he has played this over and over in his head... Poor guy
- RogueMountie, on 03/21/2008, -2/+12Q: What do the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Rapters and the Toronto Maple Leafs have in common?
A: None of them can play hockey.
Q: What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?
A: The both looked good until they hit the ice.
Q: How many Leafs does it take to win the Stanley Cup?
A: No one knows!
Q: How many Leafs does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Six. One to screw it in and 5 to tell everyone how good the old bulb used to be. - BrownieBrown, on 03/21/2008, -2/+10Lucky!
- inactive, on 03/21/2008, -1/+8Not for the goalie =)
- Howzer, on 03/21/2008, -5/+12Ever actually watched Toskala play? He's an amazing goaltender and without him the Leafs would be even ***** than they already are. He's leaps and bounds better than Raycroft (not saying much), and has kept the Leafs in many games which they should have lost. If you actually watched the game you'd know that the ice was terrible that night (hence the crazy bouncing that the puck is doing), AND you'd also know that the Leafs actually won this game 3-1, this being the only goal the Islanders got, which was very, very lucky.
- bromac, on 03/21/2008, -2/+6Fours hockey fans were climbing a mountain - an Red Wings fan, a Canadians fan, a Canucks fan and a Leafs fan.
They reach the summit, the Red Wings fan screams "This is for the Wings!", and throws himself off the mountain to show his dedication.
Not to be outdone, the Canadians fan does the same, screaming "This is for le Habs!" as he falls to his death.
It comes to the Canucks fan's turn, and he pauses for a moment. He screams "This is for everyone!" and pushes the Leafs fan off. - sailadayaway, on 03/21/2008, -1/+5and flat on two sides
- jessestorm, on 03/21/2008, -0/+4You're right. I was wrong. He's got good stats.
- MasterPlayer, on 03/21/2008, -1/+5It did hit the front page, a day after it happened. http://digg.com/hockey/Hockey_Player_Scores_from_2 ...
- mattski2191, on 04/09/2009, -0/+4Yeah this was on the front page a couple days ago. But just to do it again. Go Islanders!!!! Stephon Stamkos here we come!!!!!!!!
- dubey, on 03/21/2008, -1/+4Old news is old.
- legoalert33, on 03/21/2008, -1/+4I am truly sorry for you.
- zmigliozzi, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2Short-handed even, it never seizes to amaze me how bad the leafs are.
- Cerialthriller, on 03/21/2008, -2/+4this happened days ago. Musta had a Phillies shortstop filling in for him that night.
- rfolkerts, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2indeed, go wings!
- borez, on 03/21/2008, -2/+4Fluke
- ytsohptwhere, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2Your still not making the playoffs... GO HABS GO!!
- loconet, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2Why people continue to support the leafs blows my mind
- BagginsBoy, on 03/21/2008, -1/+3Digg isn't limited to world causes, it's for things that are interesting to people. This is something that is interesting.
Go read a newspaper and stop pouting. K thanks. - basic0, on 03/21/2008, -0/+2That last one sounds more like Leafs fans than the team itself. More accurate would be: 1 to fail miserably at screwing it in, and 22 other guys to talk about how they think they're great at screwing light bulbs in and still have a chance to get it screwed in before the season is over.
- aceakm, on 03/21/2008, -2/+4Probably not since they won the game.
- ytsohptwhere, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1GO HABS GO!!!
- Condemned, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Rob Davison basically sucked though, so at least now we know there's one area on the ice he can score from...
- marcus1060, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Should of got his chest in front of it, never would have happened.
- wondertwins, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1He mustv'e said to himself, "*****, I am going to fired for this."
- jameskong15, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1That's what I was wondering, good to hear since this seemed like a fluke to me.
- xXMetalJesusXx, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1He's right...
I don't know why he's being dugg down. Toskala is a good goaltender, but that was a piss poor play. Always put the "BODY" in front of the puck, especially when you see it bouncing. - KDyneria, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1All, including the GTA
- bromac, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Hockey games are usually exciting in their entirety.
There's few other games that don't stop play until a goal, a penalty (usually violent), or someone getting hurt (usually violently). - Rikushix, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Shannon's goal was brilliant. The best part was, he was only playing because Raymond is out for four weeks. Can't wait for tonight's game against Minny.
And on-topic, Toskala is actually a decent goalie. These things happen and I'm more sympathetic than anything. - KDyneria, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1supporting? the leafs are a love-to-hate thing in Toronto.
- zspade, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Trickier to block.
- pbpyrojust, on 03/21/2008, -1/+2Sure was.
- LordoftheFly, on 03/21/2008, -1/+2Nice catch.
- captainhair, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1aahhahahahaha, leafs suck so bad
- inactive, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1If you are going to knock hockey, you may want to makesure you have nothing ridiculously embarrassing in your Digg history that shows how horribly pathetic your life is. So, hockey is boring...but SKATEBOARDING is exciting? Are you 12?
Had you done that, you would have created a new account just to knock hockey. Becuase now you revealed how patehtic your life is. - moniker, on 03/21/2008, -1/+2Give us Campbell back. :-(
- sailadayaway, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1If you watch it, he's lined up exactly where he should be, the puck takes a weird bounce at the end and jumps to his left. I used to play hockey, sometimes that puck takes some crazy turns, and it may not look like it's going faster, but if you're already down it's tough to move over like that.
- Scrappy1850, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1bill buckner was in the WS when he let that ball past him... just sayin.
- mattski2191, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1^^^^^Don't hate on the "Gigdy, giggdy"
- legoalert33, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1similar to Detroit Red Wings and Lions
