youtube.com — Its hard to find a top 10 list for hits that doesn't include Paul Kariya being knocked out by Scott Stevens - but few know about the aftermath of the play. So I thought this youtube video would give some of you guys a history lesson. WARNING: Turn down your volume at around 1:30, the guy has a ***** high volume advertisement to finish the clip up.

    Also, its sad to see that Paul today, while good, never was the same after this, and to make it worse, was already in a "never was the same" mode from the Suter crosscheck in 1998.

    One of my favorite players of the 90's and I can't wait until he gets his 1000th point (at 946 right now).

I met him when he played for the Preds, one of the nicest people I've ever talked to. He is the definition of how hockey players should carry themselves, and kids should be seeing him all over the T.V instead of that slimebag Sean Avery.

    they are for when your own elbow hits the ice, and you are padded so you dont break your elbow and learn to shoot and puck handle all over again.

    they are definitely not for shmucks that go for elbow shots to the head.

  • thredden, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4Hats off to Paulie, he's probably one of the most professional men in Hockey today. He was a joy to watch when he played for the Preds for a short two season stint. Probably the one of the best Powerplay quaterbacks in the league.

    Do you know that he meditates before and AFTER the games? Now that's discipline.

If you watch the video, at 0:27 you can see him wake up on the ice, he was out cold after the hit. When you get your bell rung that hard, it takes days before you can function appropriately, let alone play professional sports.

    Scott Stevens has ended careers (read: Eric Lindros).
