- Jeffler, on 12/12/2008, -1/+15By the way, thanks tehmewse for posting the vid in the comments of The Top 10 Best NHL Body Checks.
Also, its sad to see that Paul today, while good, never was the same after this, and to make it worse, was already in a "never was the same" mode from the Suter crosscheck in 1998.
One of my favorite players of the 90's and I can't wait until he gets his 1000th point (at 946 right now). - wild, on 12/13/2008, -1/+13What is with the ***** ass music transition at the end?
- themastersb, on 12/13/2008, -0/+10Dugg for warning me about the *****/high volume advertisement at the end of the video.
- digitalpanda, on 12/13/2008, -0/+9I was there when this happened. I remember people gasping around me a few seconds later. When he made that final winning goal, everyone was screaming so much! My ears rung like crazy for the next couple days. Go Ducks!
- Jeffler, on 12/13/2008, -0/+8I didn't know people were still so ignorant about one of the best sports in the world
- xchrisxsays, on 12/13/2008, -0/+8Andddddd BOOM goes the dynamite!
- AMacIsaac, on 12/13/2008, -0/+8Paul Kariya has been incredibly resilient in spite of his size.
- Jeffler, on 12/13/2008, -0/+7Read the description.
"WARNING: Turn down your volume at around 1:30, the guy has a ***** high volume advertisement to finish the clip up."
Basically, some people believe that gets others visiting their sites. Which it doesn't. - McWhiskey, on 12/13/2008, -0/+6depressing to see paul having to waste away in St. Louis... especially now that they traded Stempniak. I met him when he played for the Preds, one of the nicest people I've ever talked to. He is the definition of how hockey players should carry themselves, and kids should be seeing him all over the T.V instead of that slimebag Sean Avery.
- juicycutlets, on 12/13/2008, -0/+6Paul Kariya is an epic warrior. Dugg for Hockey, the greatest sport on the planet.
- abw1987, on 12/13/2008, -2/+8Stevens is a ***** monster.
- thredden, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5what? no thats not what elbow pads are for!
they are for when your own elbow hits the ice, and you are padded so you dont break your elbow and learn to shoot and puck handle all over again.
they are definitely not for shmucks that go for elbow shots to the head. - rajputwarrior, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5this is why hockey players are the greatest athletes in the world... paul kariya is 5 '9 and weighs nothing and toke the hit by one of the games biggest hitters of all time, comes back and scored the winning goal...
- Cannon49, on 12/13/2008, -1/+6www.kleenex.com
- mnpilot, on 12/14/2008, -0/+4Go Devils!
- thredden, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4Hats off to Paulie, he's probably one of the most professional men in Hockey today. He was a joy to watch when he played for the Preds for a short two season stint. Probably the one of the best Powerplay quaterbacks in the league.
Do you know that he meditates before and AFTER the games? Now that's discipline. - frontaxle, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4That's how North Vancouver rolls.
- loubeck, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3Absolutely. And it's also the reason that Hockey players are the greatest/toughest athletes in the world (imo).
Can you imaging a golfer getting his ass knocked out and coming back to finish the round with an eagle? I don't think so. - DP84, on 12/13/2008, -1/+4Good video until the garbage music played at 10X volume.
- vacuum2440, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3great moment, i was looking for this after seeing the top 10 body checks...
- DeadFox1, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3Thanks for the volume warning! :)
- TheChunt, on 12/13/2008, -1/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93iLTn0BpBc
- jdmcadam, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3You know what that video needs? A nu metal cover of a Michael Jackson song.
- DiggityCarl, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3THAT is what makes hockey so great! The earth-shattering hit.......then, the guts and grit to get back on the ice and score.
- aigulf, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3Yeah, the fact that he had a concussion earlier that game from a hit that everyone thought would have him in the hospital. If you watch the video, at 0:27 you can see him wake up on the ice, he was out cold after the hit. When you get your bell rung that hard, it takes days before you can function appropriately, let alone play professional sports.
Scott Stevens has ended careers (read: Eric Lindros). - glayventron, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3as much as i dislike kariya, i'll never forget that moment. and them him coming back with that laser shot past brodeur. best game ever.
- Jeffler, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2Earlier in the game he was knocked out cold (the hit you saw). He went from motionless on the ice to scoring.
- haidalangara, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2sieve! sieve! sieve!
- deadapostle, on 12/13/2008, -1/+3I watched it a couple of times and I don't get it. It's kind of pixellated, so it's tough to see, but it just looked like a goal. Is there something I'm missing?
- Jeffler, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2"especially now that they traded Stempniak"
As a Leafs fan, no complaints here :P - jdmcadam, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2"From the Troller to the Raven and all stops in between"
- thecoolestguy, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2That shot was a work of art.
- mal1964, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2I was kidding, and i know they work my son uses his elbow pads often as he visits the ice surface frequently as a mini mite in his first year playing hockey.
- ThraxyWaxy, on 12/14/2008, -0/+2By Paul Kariya you meant Keeanu Reeves, right?
- Jeffler, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2Kevin Adams, the remains of Ron Francis' career, the list goes on and on of Scotty Victims
- coryjg, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2Unfortunately, I didn't read said disclaimer and now need to get my hearing checked.
- Cannon49, on 12/13/2008, -2/+3That was a late hit though. Still a beauty.
- UserName88, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1As far as i know, scott stevens has less then 10 elbowing penalties in his career.
- niftycake, on 12/13/2008, -1/+2Dugg for Children of Bodom's cover of Rockwell's Somebody's watching me. Finish melodic death metal ftw.
- inactive, on 12/14/2008, -0/+1zuk mah penis
- mal1964, on 12/13/2008, -3/+2Thats what elbow pads are for. But a pretty clean hit.
- eric1071, on 12/13/2008, -8/+2Hockey isn't a real sport, its an outlet for domestic violence among gay men. Eh?
- elislider, on 12/13/2008, -15/+563 diggs != front page wtf
- displaced1, on 12/13/2008, -19/+4I didn't know people still watched Hockey.
