- Jo9100, on 06/02/2009, -1/+17And THIS is the big news tonight in Montreal. Every news channel is talking about it.
Anyway, everyone here is hoping the Canadiens will stop sucking now he's in charge. - ChileanGoD, on 06/02/2009, -0/+14Learn your hockey team names, dumbass.
- tbonez, on 06/02/2009, -0/+14you mean canadiens? because thats not an 'epic fail' at all
http://canadiens.nhl.com/ - amabaie, on 06/01/2009, -2/+16Here's crossing our fingers.
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -1/+14Because multiple users of Digg live in Canada, or near the Canadian border and enjoy hockey.
Because if you have to ask why, then you just don't get it...
Because I am Canadian... damn it...
Because... because... I'm not a lumber jack damn it... Nor a fur trader
And I dont live in an igloo, or eat whale-blubber (tabernac).
Nor do I own a dog sled, and I don't know Jimmy, Jally or Suzie from Canada
Although I'm sure they're really really nice
And damn it most of all... the beaver is a truley proud and noble animal.
Does that answer your question? - zalery, on 06/02/2009, -0/+9Also because the Canadiens have an extremely large fan base.
- disrupter, on 06/02/2009, -0/+9Says the guy that favourited "10 Lessons Good Girls Can Learn From Porn Stars"
- thelastcivilian, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10First time in 25 years they've hired someone with NHL coaching experience (Gainey doesn't count). I hope that counts for something.
- flapanthers87, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9Dumbass, that's how the name is spelt. I'm a Canadian but the Canadiens are a hockey team.
- canadabluesfan, on 06/02/2009, -0/+8Hockey news on Digg! awesome.
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9At least the Habs made the playoffs... which is better than we can say for the Florida-Panthers.
- arock99, on 06/02/2009, -3/+10a career .550 win percentage in the regular season and less than .400 in the playoffs. one of the most overrated coaches in the game
ya thats going to do it. someone fire Gainey please - Malarie, on 06/02/2009, -0/+6Laissons la chance aux courreur un peu!! :)
- xXMetalJesusXx, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7Having watched him coach several successful Ottawa Senator seasons I can say it's a great hiring. I don't care what anyone says, he made Spezza the player he is today by keeping him in the minors for so long. Hopefully the Canadians can get their act together and all go along with Martin's game plan. The more Canadian Teams in the playoffs the better...cept the leafs
- archiesteel, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5Ah, don't be too hard on Gainey. It's not his fault the team choked...I don't know, I think there's a curse on the habs...maybe there's too much pressure on them, I don't know - Montreal is still a huge hockey town! I can always tell if the habs are winning or losing just by the tone of my friend's messages on facebook...
/Bien le bonjour d'un Québécois vivant au Chili ;-) - RobynG7, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5Ottawa was one of the most offensive teams in the league when he was coaching them...
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+5boo-urns yourself jhuik!
- Malarie, on 06/02/2009, -1/+5LEAFS: Loosers Even After Forty years. :)
- Thinkbig12, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Also, you forgot to mention that Rollie Melanson has been fired!!!!
- bigfatmonster, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4bob gainey is the Jay leno of hockey...he's there every time and tries hard to be good at what he does.....the only diff. is his display of emotions or lack of emotions....
- canadabluesfan, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4Its canadian in french dumbass
- disrupter, on 06/02/2009, -4/+8On s'en caliss osti.
- fapfaptrain, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Reported. Go play your baseballs, yank.
- avirk86, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4but that .550 includes 3 full seasons with the panthers, and the majority of his playoff games were with the choking Senators. With those two factors included his numbers really don't do him justice
- DPDish12, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Retard.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Canadiens
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3I don't know how to take this...
- Malarie, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2ouch
- one1plus1one, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2???
Too many Tylenols, I guess. - ChileanGoD, on 06/02/2009, -2/+4... on a sad note... Bob Gainey still remains in the organisation.
....Lurking in the shadows... waiting fro the least expected moment to kick Jacques Martin's ass out of the coaching position and take it himself just in time to eliminate the Canadiens from yet another Stanley Cup series. - UncleScrooge, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2I think Spezza would've been an even better player if Martin was forced to use him by Muckler. Spezza is yet to learn how to back check and take care of the puck in important situations.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1cassé!
- fzthps, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1A Tuque is a hat calis
A Chesterfield is a couch
AND IT IS PRONOUNCED Z(ed) NOT Z(ee) Z(ed) - jrod03, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2canadian panthers fan? you exist????
- Jo9100, on 06/02/2009, -2/+3Way to go buddy. That's some real intelligence you're showing right here.
- canadabluesfan, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1So we can have pictures of kangaroos on the front page but not hockey?
- proberge, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1Carbonneau était trop gentil et pas assez agressif. Si Michel Bergeron avait été assez jeune, il aurait mis les vedettes au pas.
- droogieca, on 06/02/2009, -3/+2The general manager and all of his assistants are Canadian. I was referring to their nationality, not their employer. ;)
- jhuik, on 06/02/2009, -3/+2awwww. Habs fans dugg me down.
: -(
How much more down you Habs fans will be when your team stinks again next year, hee hee. - fzthps, on 06/02/2009, -2/+0gainey : c'est une occasion de pénètrer les joeurs un peu plus profond...
is the team sold yet? It's time for the fans to put pressure on the organization to fire gainey!
manifestation! - eric4ok, on 06/02/2009, -4/+1You forgot to mention that all FOUR goals scored in yesterday's 3-1 defeat of the Penguins were scored by Detroit.
- ChileanGoD, on 06/02/2009, -12/+8Je veux Carbonneau, tabar@#$%!
- MaxEvans, on 06/02/2009, -6/+1Hockey is for *****, *****. Gayfags.
- Bulldogge16, on 06/02/2009, -7/+1LOL....hahaha...., sorry that was just my reaction to this news today. As a leaf fan all I can offer is my sympathies to the Habs fans out there. Your in for a long, long journey as we have been for sooo long now. Sorry people, get ready for the worst hockey ever to be played in Montreal.
Mr Personality is moving to town....haha what is Gainey thinking? - droogieca, on 06/02/2009, -10/+3So the Canadians have all offensive players... and they sign a coach who runs a purely defensive game, simply because he was the highest profile french guy available.
Well, you reap what you sow. -
