Once, a Molson brother (not one that bought the team) went out drinking with the Habs. Sometime during the night, he got into some rough words with some bikers.
Of course the Habs came to his rescue, and won the brawl, but the Molson was never mentioned in the papers later...apparently it's bad to risk injuring your multi-million dollar hockey team. - techdogg, on 06/21/2009, -1/+117$/beer? - Sold it for ~ 550 M. [the 500 in the title is inaccurate.]
- Montreal Canadiens generated ~ 288 M in 2007-08
- Profits of 45 M in 2007-08
- 2008-09 profits are expected to be much higher due to centenary year.
- The Bell Center has been "sold out" every single game since 2005.
- He is selling the team because he is having very serious monetary issues.

At the same time, these buyers are just members of the Molson family, they have no affiliation with the company anymore.

- dhughes, on 06/21/2009, -1/+1 I did it too and it is a pet peeve although I've noticed people in the US usually put center for the center of something and also for institutions but in Canada it's center for the middle and centre for institutions etc.. I prefer 'centre' for buildings, organizations, institutions.
