- turtlegroove, on 01/06/2009, -2/+276If it was stolen from an adult it would be bad enough..but to steal it from a kid?? I hope karma hit that person hard!
- WordsnCollision, on 01/06/2009, -1/+197Dollars to donuts the stick shows up on eBay.
- siamesedream, on 01/06/2009, -1/+190"Henrik Zetterberg, made eye contact with the 14-year-old. "He kind of winked," Plew said. "Then he gave me his stick." What happened next is just sick."
This story, thankfully, does not pan out anywhere close to way it's been advertised... - Nephersir7, on 01/06/2009, -1/+124When i was 6 yrs old, i went to see my first NHL game, and a player (cant remember which one) gave his stick to the kid right next to me :(
I still hate him - pitchblack16, on 01/06/2009, -2/+92Poor kid, he's right a new stuck from Henrik is all fine and dandy but just not the same. May that retard be blessed with bad luck for the rest of his life for stealing that stick.
- Atomic05, on 01/06/2009, -0/+88Hopefully karma uses a truck.
- Boing, on 01/06/2009, -28/+107What a dick... at least the Red Wings are willing to help this kid out.
Don't get me wrong, the Red Wings still suck. - jcgreenx, on 01/06/2009, -3/+64Luckiest kid in the world. I bet he ends up watching a game in front row seats and going into the Red Wings locker room.
- josiemiller7, on 01/06/2009, -1/+51Wow, that's awful. I hope the Red Wings do something special for the kid.
- tnoy, on 01/06/2009, -0/+48Your fault for not pretending to be security, and taking the stick like the douche in the article.
- Honeyblade, on 01/06/2009, -0/+46What a ***** thing to do to a kid. Those are the kind of moments you remember forever and carry with you throughout your entire life, and that guy ruined it for him. I hope the guy who still it gets whats coming to him.
- FreddieD, on 01/06/2009, -2/+40They'll mail the kid an octopus that's been dead for two weeks.
- darthfergie, on 01/06/2009, -0/+36In this case, a Zamboni
- lroche, on 01/06/2009, -0/+35Don Cherry needs to get on this
- mrh182, on 01/06/2009, -1/+34I was that kid. And I still keep it in my office next to the picture of the crying kid next to me.
- LlarrytheLlama, on 01/06/2009, -0/+32People suck sometimes
- Maddoktor2, on 01/06/2009, -0/+32I hope the scumbag who did this is stupid enough to show it off to friends with consciences.
- IphtashuFitz, on 01/06/2009, -0/+32Somehow I get the feeling this kid is going to get something like a hockey stick signed by the entire team, or a hockey stick personally presented to him by members of the team, or a hockey stick and box tickets to an upcoming game, or something along those lines. At least I sincerely hope that's what the Wings PR department decides to do.
- DonnieJamon, on 01/06/2009, -0/+29A new stick which I would bet is signed by Zetts will only make the kid happier. I'd also be willing to bet he gets a couple of Wings tickets too. Either way that kid will hate the Blackhawks and potentially the cubs for the rest of his life.
- Infowarsdotcom, on 01/06/2009, -5/+34I'd buy it just to give it back to the guy who stole it.
Only I'd shove it up his ass sideways and let Zetterberg score a slap shot goal on his ass...literally. - bruuks, on 01/06/2009, -0/+27I was at a World Jr. game last week and a kid 5 rows up got smoked in the head with the puck. He was bleeding and he and his dad, with a first aid type walked out of the rink.
Our whole section was screaming at the fan who eventually caught the puck "Give the puck to the kid".
He got the puck. It took a few seconds for him to realize what was going on, and how much of douchetard he was being, but he eventually did the right thing.
Sadly, this hockey stick thief had no section of screaming fans to instill some sort of moral common sense. - bigstinky, on 01/06/2009, -4/+28They're jealous rizzo...if they're hockey fans, they're jealous. To say the Detroit Red Wings, one of the most storied hockey clubs of all time, a team with integrity and class (see article), 4 time winner of the Stanley Cup in 11 years, "Sucks", reeks of buffoonery at it's highest level.
Go ahead and hate Detroit all you like, we thrive on it...Just don't say the Wings suck. Fools say the Wings suck. They've earned just a touch of respect over the years. - bluehouse, on 01/06/2009, -2/+25It's a lesson he won't forget
"Life is pain. Anyone telling you otherwise is trying to sell you something" - Cerialthriller, on 01/06/2009, -2/+22those things are worth a good amount of money even if it werent used in a game by a pro. Some of those sticks can cost $500-$600 alone.
- jtown, on 01/06/2009, -0/+19""He should have been able to walk out of the stadium without problem," Rice said. "The question is whether somebody stole it.""
Gee, ya think? Thanks for the tip, Captain Obvious. - amercer, on 01/06/2009, -1/+20I bet that "your" is wrong.
- josiemiller7, on 01/06/2009, -3/+21Except Zetterberg remembers giving the kid the stick.
- DangerCollie, on 01/06/2009, -0/+17Makes you want to bring back public flogging, doesn't it? Not only would it likely beat some sense into the retard stealing the kids stick, it would be a warning to stupid people everywhere.
- zuiquan, on 01/06/2009, -0/+16Ah *****, I had to laugh in spite of myself.
- imakeholesinu, on 01/06/2009, -0/+15Think bigger.
- lololol1, on 01/06/2009, -0/+15We like him because he's awesome
- CaptRage, on 01/06/2009, -0/+15Like a team signed stick
- imakeholesinu, on 01/06/2009, -0/+15Is that like a Carfax report?
- DrCyclops, on 01/07/2009, -1/+15Yes, let us all argue about which urban center is the largest blight on the human race.
With pride, at that.
"Well in MY city, not only would the stick have been taken but he'd have been shot in the face and thrown into a vat of acid. Then his house would have been burned down his family sold into white slavery. WOO, GO MY CITY!" - snotrokit, on 01/06/2009, -2/+16Find the guard. Find the stick. Insert stick into guards rectum blade first. Perform Hansen Brothers degree of slapshot.
- Smurph0404, on 01/06/2009, -0/+13Canadian fans like him because he twists hockey commentary into a speech about how great Canada is every time.
- kylejn, on 01/06/2009, -1/+14If it does, there should be a fund to purchase the stick and send it back to the kid. I'd donate some money.
EDIT: Or, even better, have eBay track down the guy through his account, take the stick back, give it to the kid, and send the guy to federal pound-you-in-the-ass prison. - RizzoFrank, on 01/06/2009, -11/+24Jealous much?
- adkenc, on 01/06/2009, -1/+14sometimes?
- BoneStamp, on 01/06/2009, -0/+13This is like taking candy from a baby, except the kid is a bit older and licking hockey sticks is not recommended.
- andrewlotta, on 01/06/2009, -0/+12With this coverage, I'm sure he will receive that or better.
- unorginalityftw, on 01/06/2009, -0/+11His suits and ties man, his suits and ties.
- Chaoticfist, on 01/06/2009, -0/+11Man who ever did that is such a prick. I hope they invite that kid to some major game coming up and bring him out on the ice and give him a stick in front of everyone in the stadium. That would be the way to fix this, and while on ice, say they are going to do what they can to find the prick that took it, there had to be cameras in there.
- plainOldFool, on 01/06/2009, -0/+11I feel for this kid and I'm glad the Red Wings are working to make this right. But did anyone else wonder why this kid's dad was watching the game in a bar across the street and not at the game with him?
- jgopp, on 01/06/2009, -1/+11fitzfan you should look up the "pro-stock" sticks the ones the players actually use, not the cheaper versions for mass market. Prices go up considerably.
- rocor, on 01/06/2009, -0/+10Hopefully person ends up with hockey stick wedged permanently into a place from which karma never shines.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+10Well, except for Toronto.
- kinseyincanada, on 01/06/2009, -1/+10i wonder if it actually was a security guard, but still that guy is the worlds largest assbag.
