  • AyaJulia, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Look, there's always someone who whines that Hockey stories make the FP after 30 diggs. It's not rocket science. Seriously. Go back to all the popular hockey stories. It's almost always there, no matter the submitter.

    Hockey stories don't get quite as many diggs as other categories. Digg wants a variety of story types on the FP. If every hockey story got 500 diggs and nothing else got more than 300, articles in the hockey category would need a metric ***** more diggs to make the FP. But they don't.

    As more hockey makes the FP, the number of required diggs for hockey will go up.

I didn't shout it or favorite it which means it probably got the diversity requirements really quickly. Good evidence that shouting hurts you more than helps in the long run.
