- Ribbys, on 01/01/2009, -3/+30This game was EPIC.
- feyded, on 01/01/2009, -1/+20Great game. Can't wait to see Tavares in the NHL next season.
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -1/+18I wish I was John Tavares. Guy is just beyond a beast, and has probably solidified the #1 overall pick now. Sorry, Hedman.
- Fhwqhgads, on 01/01/2009, -2/+18CANADA ***** YEAH!!
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -1/+13A replay of the game just started right now on TSN2, and I'm going to upload the game in full tommorow, if anyones interested.
Honeslty, this might've been the best hockey game ever...definitely the best non-playoff/knockout.
Also, there was an amazing save by Tokarski that you HAVE to see, probably the best of the year, which you can find here.

Oh, and a guy blew a chance at winning $1,000,000 during the intermission. Sucks to be him, but great game. - FrEaK40, on 01/01/2009, -1/+11nope
- baplaut, on 01/01/2009, -1/+10The title should read "From 0-3 to 7-4..."
Regardless, it was a great game Canada, now bring on the Swedes for that fifth gold! - johnlandes, on 01/01/2009, -0/+9Don't worry, they probably won't disappoint you
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -0/+8Hedman will be a beast, but Tavares has shown this tournament he's not just a one trick pony.
I hope the leafs lose every damn game this year and pick him 1st. - Tipster420, on 01/01/2009, -2/+10Canada FTW!
- iMiXiMi, on 01/01/2009, -1/+8One of the best games i've seen in a while. For a while i really thought US was going to take it, they are definitely getting better. But Tokarsky (near the end anyway) and Tavares helped us win.
- chugatussin, on 01/01/2009, -1/+8summit series
- mikeophile, on 01/01/2009, -4/+10Who doesn't love hokcey?
- fokov, on 01/01/2009, -0/+6#1 doesn't matter to the player because it matters more for the team. Some teams have good D without enough O, others have O without D. Western teams build from the blue line out and if a western team gets the #1, which isn't likely, they would pick the defense. I think most teams will take Hedman first. I follow an eastern team that needs a #1 center so Tavares would be my pick. We had Bogosian last year, but we are very short on O talent.
In the end offense puts fans in the stands, but defense wins championships. - homerjs, on 01/01/2009, -2/+7I dont love "hokcey" I love HOCKEY... no Canadian would ever misspell their national sport
- as265, on 01/01/2009, -0/+5And this game also set a single-game attendance record - 22,223 for a World Junior Hockey Championship game. Incredible.
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -0/+5For those clueless, he's probably talking about this:

I have to agree, Della Rovere was acting like a ***** the entire game. Think, if you're one of those people in here to make a joke because they saw the Mighty Ducks Movies and have never watched a real game, think of a real life Fulton Reed. It was pretty disgraceful. - FrEaK40, on 01/01/2009, -0/+5go back in your hole.
- homerjs, on 01/01/2009, -1/+5Game was alot closer than the score reflects, last 2 goals by Canada were empty netters
- asgardshill, on 01/01/2009, -2/+6Great game in spite of the cheapshotting that went on late. Kudos to Canada youth hockey.
- crossmr, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4Soccer moms... and guys who only put mustard on their hot dogs.
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4If the arena could fit 222,230 they'd fill it.
- karmon3, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4The cheapshot on Didiminico was embarrassing for the US. I'm sure there will be a video of that soon.
- vanza001, on 01/01/2009, -1/+4I only put mustard on my hot dogs, and I LOVE hockey!
- smacksaw, on 01/01/2009, -0/+3I'm just glad this article made it as well as the link to the video since that dude was crying that you posted a link to your own submission.
- elfuego, on 01/01/2009, -2/+5Nice to see the home team win at Scotiabank Place... I had almost forgotten how that feels.
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -0/+3Thats merely based on emotion though. In terms of actual quality of game, the Habs/Red Army game is probably #1, though I'd put this one right up there, along with Stars/Sharks Game 6 in last years playoffs.
- Shakermaker, on 01/01/2009, -0/+3"Thirty-three years to the day after the Montreal Canadiens and Central Red Army took part in the greatest hockey game ever played..."
Fail. The greatest game ever played:

I was going to catch a replay of the game at:
http://watch.tsn.ca/international-hockey/clip12582 ...
but the video will not load - andrewdevlin, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3He deserved that for taunting the opposing bench after a goal. It was classless.
BTW I'm Canadian. - inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2You are obviously an American, you dont live in Canada and you LOVE HOCKEY thats why you are on ALL the threads about the world jrs... so here it goes
You just lost to Slovakia who is a TERRIBLE TEAM. You americans are so ***** brutal and this game it makes me laugh. You are a piece of ***** captric, so it your classless team. The best thing you can do is cheatshot other teams from your own bench because you are cowards. Your american player won't even hit a Canadian when hes on the ice CUS HES TOO AFRAID.
Have fun in the 5th/6th place game. You are pathetic. It's to laughable and nothing you can spew out of that retarded ***** mouth of yours makes a difference. YOU SUCK! LIVE WITH IT - Zippo, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Taking the goalie out for the last few minutes of the game CAN be a good tactic... but in every game I've seen, it isn't...
Last night's game was a good example of that... Instead of helping the US tie the game, it helped Canada with two easy goals. - Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Add me on MSN or send me an email (or join my boards and PM me, I'm looking for new members anyway :P), I'll tell you when I have it up (It'll be on the 2nd though, tommorow is dedicated to the Winter Classic).
- fragadelic, on 01/01/2009, -2/+4One of the best games I've watched.
btw, the title kinda makes it seem like Canada was up 3-0 - rhuzyo, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2i think they will because they are actually winning games more often now that burke got thare which is suposed to be agianst the plan they will most likely win to many games to get a good draft spot
- syntaxgs, on 01/01/2009, -1/+3I don,t really know about the whole Canada vs US thing because all in all sports are more Of a casual type of thing whereby people
- shinpoe, on 01/01/2009, -2/+4go canada, eh!
- inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2ummm Hayes did it first you ***** idiot. On the US second goal he taunted the Canadian bench. Tavares returned the favour. What the US player did was absolutly disgraceful and as a Canadian you sohuld really understand that. PS - Please WATCH the game before you comment and look like a total asshat!
- Jeffler, on 01/01/2009, -1/+3See but then we're looking at emotions to choose our game.
On a pure logistical standpoint, in terms of the actual events in the game, this is right up there. - inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2what about, the us player sticking his stick into DiDimicos face on his way past the bench. Della Rovere was pure retaliation. You just don't do these kinds of things.
- jlgosse, on 01/01/2009, -1/+3"Canada is now 28-5-3 all-time against the United States at the World Junior Hockey Championship."
This may or may not be the best thing I've read all day. - SilverBack101, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I didn't get to see it but man that would certainly have made my day!
- Schmidtopolis, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Heh, nah, the Sens are way worse on the road... which is hardly consolation.
- ninjasnowman, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2there are some time it works great
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=dDbEX666G3Y - rhuzyo, on 01/01/2009, -2/+4i wouldnt think so, a massive D man like hedman is rarer and more desirable then an amazingly talented forward but still go canada YEA!!!!
- AlbionEikon, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2Try this: http://watch.tsn.ca/#clip125777
(It's the link that worked for me, anyway... and if it doesn't work, just navigate from their Homepage to > Video Library>2009 World Jr. Championship VOD>Preliminary Round Canada vs. USA)
I hope this helps ya. - inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+2me too, i only put mustard on my hamburgers and im the biggest hockey fan ever. go habs!
- skeetshot, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2When you see kids that were younger than you in school playing for your country, it really makes you wonder what the ***** you're doing with your life... better just finish this pilsner and cheer louder.
- BluesFan, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final.
- ivand67, on 01/01/2009, -2/+3This was great hockey, no doubt, but best hockey game ever? Come on... This was great and I'm so happy we get to catch WJs the in the States on NHL Network now, but the Stanley Cup playoffs beat this tournament hands down.
No offense, and I love the enthusiasm that you guys have for the World Juniors, but the fact that it's Team Canada gets Canadians a little too excited. :) -
