Game 5 was one of the greatest cup games that I can remember, and especially for Fleury. The kid played great but Ozzie and Detroits defensemen couldn't be stopped :)
GO REDWINGS!!!! - georgemason01, on 06/05/2008, -9/+39Game 5 was a huge letdown but I'm glad they wrapped this up after several playoff collapses in recent memory. I held my breath until they won it, and wasn't surprised Pittsburgh almost got a tying goal in the last few seconds.
As a Wings fan I thought it would have been nice if Osgood won the Conn Smythe, but he lost it for himself after last game. Zetterberg deserved it, that guy is an amazing player, I'd argue the best overall in the NHL right now. - Jaakob, on 06/05/2008, -2/+32Pitt's 2nd goal with under 5 minutes was badass. Such an intense game, gotta love hockey playoffs. Crazy ending too, puck trickling in front of the net as the buzzer goes off. I was looking forward to a game 7, but congrats to the wings, series well played.

I watched them play in the winter classic and win I watched some great trades take place and see a ***** amazing team come together for the playoffs. They may not be the best team in the league but they had the most heart and gave us a great season. Can't wait for the next one. Go Pens

Triple over time, and of course the puck dancing inches away from the goal line at the very end. I jumped up and down and cried. Simply amazing, guys. Amazing job, and hats off to both teams!

I thought they were going to do it and tie it up again just like they did with only 35 seconds left in the game on Monday night. I was yelling and so excited when in the final second of the game they were that close to scoring. Truly an amazing game, and I am sad that Pittsburgh didn't get it, but the Red Wings were definitely the better team.

The guy is HORRIBLE at marketing (no old timers, it's not over expansion that did it) and that was supposed to be his strength. He got credit for helping the NBA in the 80's but I got a news flash, Magic and Bird did that, not you Gary Bettman.

- vancanucksfan, on 06/05/2008, -5/+14I'm glad Detroit whooped Pittsburgh's ass. not that I'm a Detroit red wings fan but because Pittsburgh has to be the biggest whining sports team in history. first starting with their jackass coach. therrien cries after every loss and blames it on the refs, and sending 14 clips from the game to the NHL. at least babcock sucks it up and stays calm,even after those few of homer's goals didn't count even though he wasn't even near the crease. next up is sindy crosby. after every whistle i see that little weasel go cry to the refs. and don't get me started on his dives. i'm not denying his talent, but his attitude is garbage. that's why i love ovechkin. he takes it like a man, and he gets back at opponents by playing and hitting hard, not whining. if only his English was better he would be the poster boy of the NHL.

The Red Wings' veterency definitely helped them out this playoff run and they deserved to win this cup after a stunning regular season. It was great to see guys like Dallas Drake finally hoist the cup after what, 17 years in the league without one. Great great series, sad that the playoffs are over though =[
