It has to be the most interesting and entertaining sports to watch and play. It has the hitting of football, the game play of soccer, the end-to-end of basketball, and high speed objects like baseball.

Having said that I'm sure it was more exciting for me since I don't care about either team but just wanted to see some good hockey and I got that yesterday.

The Sharks need a first rate goal scorer ala Iginla, or they will never advance to the Stanley Cup finals. Cheechoo, gritty though he is, was a one-hit wonder. My wife said after every OT that we had to leave after the next one, but we hung on until the glorious end. It was my brother's first game, and we splurged on killer seats. Worth every penny, and then some. Both goaltenders were on fire! No voice today...

- Dmarzio, on 05/06/2008, -0/+10I think this game was a prime example of why the referees should put away their whistles in the playoffs. Those of you who watched it know what I'm talking about. The referees called only a couple of penalties from the 3rd-7th periods (which is longer than one full game I might add) and it turned out to be an awesome, emotional game.

- Pillard, on 05/06/2008, -0/+8The game was epic. I said on the way to the arena, jokingly, that I wish it would go into triple OT. Got more than I bargained for. Had to plead with the parents to allow my friends and I to stay at the game when it went to OT, but it all worked out. We were partying it up in the top row of the nosebleed. Ended up being in the 10th row from the glass when they won it, and it was pure pandemonium.
Easily the greatest sporting event I've ever witnessed. It was an amazing thing to be a part of.

- goonbaggins, on 05/06/2008, -0/+5While I'm not going to argue for hit of the year, I want to say that one of the things that made it great was how smart it was. The fact that Morrow took out one of the Sharks top offensive threats right before OT may have completely changed the outcome. It's not good to see a player injured, but putting a monster clean hit on one of their best players also pumped up the Stars after they had a relatively weak 3rd period.

- diggerpleez, on 05/06/2008, -0/+4I took an accidental catnap during the 1st OT. Woke up just before the 2nd and had no idea I had 3 periods of hockey ahead of me! It was *so* worth staying up for. Both teams completely deserved not too lose last night - complete and total athleticism to play that hard that long, and I have never seen such consistently bad ass goal tending on both ends. With the way that Morrow played the entire series, he certainly earned that last goal that sent the sharks packing.

It received just over 1000 diggs - and it was the ONLY post about it. Seems kind of pathetic for one of the most physically grueling sports in the world, in a contest for what is often considered the hardest fought over trophy in all of sports, worldwide, gets no coverage on a site like this.

- ngmcs8203, on 05/06/2008, -0/+3A good hit, but not hit of the year. Definitely hit of the series though. Both goalies were standing on their heads last night, but that Naby save was absolutely beautiful. Almost as great as his highway robbery of Nolan in the first round.

That said, he was one of the top 3 sharks on the ice all series... he played harder than guys 10 years younger. As a Stars fan, he scared me in this series... his intensity level was WAY up.
- threemagic, on 05/06/2008, -1/+4I don't dislike hockey. I live in Michigan.. we have hockeytown (GO REDWINGS!!!). You make it sound like hockey is this huge spectacle.. it's just this side of NASCAR on why SOME people watch (crashes vs fights), not all.. I understand there are real fans... it's just not. My opinion of the sport doesn't matter, I'm just saying. One thing that SHOULD get spoken about is that hockey remains a very clean sport, not as many drug or criminal activities in it.
