- roguewriter, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4Ever since LaCroix stepped away from being GM to take up other duties in the organization, the team has been coasting downhill. Sherman, the new GM, has been with the team for 13 years or so. Hopefully, some of the LaCroix magic has worn off on him.
At any rate, I want to see the team succeed, get back to the playoffs, and start stomping the Red Wings again. Believe me, as a Red Wing fan there's no better gratification than seeing them at rock bottom. But that's how hockey goes. Avalanche fans never got to go through a drought in their course of history. Detroit's darkness lasted what, 40 years? You win, then you suck, then you eventually win again...Unless you're Columbus. The fans in Colorado are loyal. They really want a thriving hockey club...And deserve one.

The Avs have never been the same and they were only big because they were the first pro team from Colorado that actually won.
