- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -7/+55Win a Wii or die trying.
- 1b2a, on 11/27/2007, -0/+13Just wait till Jack Thomson hears about this. "Now video games are killing our children directly!"
- rayefrenzy, on 11/27/2007, -1/+14And for people who don't want to look at an AOL article: http://www.projo.com/news/content/BRUINS_DEATH_11- ...
- Smwbigboss, on 11/27/2007, -1/+14Actually, it does mention Wii.
- mikemil828, on 11/27/2007, -3/+14Actually in this case it's win a wii AND die trying.
- murf43143, on 11/27/2007, -0/+10=(
- Archer007, on 11/27/2007, -10/+20This makes the font page... how? Not that I'm insensitive, but this isn't exactly digg-type news.
- merbot, on 11/27/2007, -4/+14Why are stories about kids dying the most depressing thing in the world?
- Quaboo, on 11/27/2007, -2/+11"The boy was taken by New England Ambulance to Hasbro Children's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead."
Hasbro Children's Hospital? At least he was able to play The Game of Life.
Oh boy, I'm going to hell. - jon30041, on 11/27/2007, -0/+8... I know you're trying to be funny and all, but it just ain't working. It's a child. Don't piss on his tragedy.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -5/+12***** you
sad story...i live in the next town over from Scituate, this is a really big story here - Skwerl, on 11/27/2007, -2/+8It really makes no sense, no one life is worth more than any other. Child, or geriatric old man, it's still an unfortunate incident.
- CraigB12, on 11/27/2007, -2/+7Yeah, you'd expect the story to be about a kid wearing a Ron Paul 08 t-shirt, and shouting, "In Communist Russia, you don't win prizes, prizes win you!"
- rey1867, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5if this had happened in a movie, i would have laughed : (
- nyx210, on 11/27/2007, -4/+8It was God stupid.
- Puppetfunk, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4No, He didn't. He fell in the stands, he wasn't on the ice.
- ChaoticCheez, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4Wii would like to play! :)
- elnerdo, on 11/27/2007, -2/+5Irony: "It was "Revival Night,"..."
- JaredXM, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4Why did they have all that extraneous information in that article. Like about who he was there with, how the arena had been renovated, etc. Is it because the only story is that some kid died walking down to the floor of the arena?
- neodem, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3dugg down because the article has so few facts in it (like, um.. the circumstances of the death) that it's practically hearsay
- Goldkill, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Did he die as a consequence of his fall, or did he fall because he suffered a fatal medical incident (e.g. stroke, heart attack)?
- Goldkill, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Dunkin Donuts center? Hasbro hospital? The child's death, though tragic, isn't the main issue here. Idiocracy here we come.
- SilverBack101, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Aw, ***** man. I feel sorry for his folks. RIP.
- CplMax, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2NOOO A WII TAKES ONE MORE LIFE!!!.. do you guys remember the shootings over the PS3.. that was depressing.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3A suspicious plumber in a red hat was seen riding a green dinosaur away from the scene of the crime.
- insomniac8400, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Darwin FTW!
- honkaform, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2That was hardly two minutes. More like 40 seconds before vanishing into a nether region of digg for the remaining 1:20. Anywho, looks like I concluded my little ditty twice. Aren't I something?
- DeviantDragon, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3As a pre-emptive comment know I'm entirely misusing the literary definition of irony and there is no real irony in the situation I presented. In fact, it's just a scenario I presented and it's not even irony in the colloquial "coincidence" definition of the word. In fact, I apologize for even mentioning irony and ask that everyone just evaluate the scenario in which the boy's prize was a taser.
- DeviantDragon, on 11/27/2007, -3/+5The real irony would be if the kid's prize was a taser. Headlines? TASER raffle RESULTS IN BOY'S DEATH.
- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -3/+5where did he fall/trip from? did he jump from the stands onto the ice or something?
cuz it doesn't get more nintendo fanboy than that... - nolesshabitual, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1wii would like to shoot you
- firecaptain, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1He wan'ts playing hockey. Try RTFA before commenting.
- Goldkill, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2Nah, if he was interventionist he would have taken you out long ago.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1http://www.pbfcomics.com/?cid=PBF067-Better_Luck.g ...
- ronaldmonster, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2I shouldn't dig you up but thats so damn funny.
- nolesshabitual, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1yeah, sports facilities selling their naming rights, who could believe such a thing? oh wait, happens everywhere. The story is still this poor kid dying not a stadium trend which has been going on for over 10 years.. and the hospital is named Hasbro because they donated millions of dallars so rhode island could have a children's hospital and emergency cases didn't have to be sent to boston.
- jeremyjx, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1You're going to hell. Save me a spot.
- RobotKing, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I know. Damn our immortality. Why do people have to die? Why?!
- 1b2a, on 11/27/2007, -2/+3lmao
- crapmatic, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Hmm... I can't really come to grips with the idea of "digging" tragic events.
- Inflammo, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2Two reasons:
1) It references the "Wee for a Wii" contest which also resulted in death.
2) Because humor is healthy. =] - ihatecookiies, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Seems suspicious....
- Enochyang, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2An unnecessary and tragic death if I ever saw one. And yet, the church congregants will probably go on believing that this is all a part of His master plan.
- empraptor, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Depends on what your metric for value is. Is it expected future productivity? Then an old senile person's life is less valuable than a child's in most cases.
- dontaskagain, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Isn't there a bridge you need to be under?
- heyiquit, on 11/27/2007, -1/+2I'm sorry, I'm from Rhode Island too and that isn't a big story anywhere.
- ElRayQuieres, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1FTA: "Lepore told The Journal in a Nov. 14 story that his arena was 'the safest public building in the country' because of the advanced life-safety measures added during that renovation."
Nothing like some horrible luck to put his foot in his mouth. - KingBunny, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1Not to be insensitive, but more people die every day than I will ever meet in my lifetime, and there wasn't really anything "fantastic" about this story.
- skabyss, on 11/27/2007, -1/+1Because digg has been run over by bleeding-heart sissies.
(I feel bad for the kid, but this used to be a hardcore technology and science site, now just another news feed) -
