      That wasn't the goal it is the equivalent of a walker. They use them to train kids to skate.

    • davidestroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2An even more honest answer is that hockey is an extremely physical sport, where you are always close to the oponent, trying to be in the right spot or keeping the other person out of that spot. This obviously results in aggression, and the fact is fights safely release that aggression as opposed to slashing, tripping and high-sticking which increased BTW when the instigator rule was introduced in the NHL ( whoever starts the fight gets tossed from the game).

  • snohman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Sort of funny until you take a step back....is this the behavior that we want to instill in our younger generations. Violence is ok as long as its on a team sport.
    Psychologist have stated that teaching young kids these type of mannerisms tend to carry out in there adult years, no wonder theres so much violence in the world. I guess they will be perfect if the draft comes back....
    • mistercharlie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Dude - I definitely do not inistill violence in my boy. What you don't hear is the audio of me wondering aloud where the coach is to break it up (I figured a little SOAD would be a better soundtrack).

      While I agree with your sentiments regarding violoence, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
    • funkydude101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I agree with snohman. Looks funny at first but children are like sponges, they absorb everything even the most minute psychological effect. I'm sure nothing bad happened in the end but I don't think I'd want my dad taping me getting into a fight regardless if I'm 5, it's still a real stressful situation (supposedly) for the child.

      There's nothing much he can do other than sit back and watch his kid, which gave a good show :)

    When you use the term "Pee Wee" in the context of hockey, you mean 13 year olds.
