While I agree with your sentiments regarding violoence, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. - davidestroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2An even more honest answer is that hockey is an extremely physical sport, where you are always close to the oponent, trying to be in the right spot or keeping the other person out of that spot. This obviously results in aggression, and the fact is fights safely release that aggression as opposed to slashing, tripping and high-sticking which increased BTW when the instigator rule was introduced in the NHL ( whoever starts the fight gets tossed from the game).

- funkydude101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I agree with snohman. Looks funny at first but children are like sponges, they absorb everything even the most minute psychological effect. I'm sure nothing bad happened in the end but I don't think I'd want my dad taping me getting into a fight regardless if I'm 5, it's still a real stressful situation (supposedly) for the child.
