- Buddhist, on 10/10/2007, -2/+113This just in: 20 to 25% of teens are idiots.
- krabat, on 10/10/2007, -9/+80Young people also think 50 Cent has musical talent. They aren't exactly the brightest crayons in the shed.
- Bukowsky, on 10/10/2007, -3/+74what do you mean? I thought you just needed some sort of cream.
- euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -4/+74You mean having sex with a virgin doesn't work? Then WTF did I spend $600 in Thailand for?
- ScornedPatriot, on 10/10/2007, -19/+84Well that's what you get when you teach abstinence. Ignorance.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+53The only exception to this is Magic Johnson, i swear that guy has had aids for like 20 years and he is still kickin
- AntBing, on 10/10/2007, -4/+54Who the hell keeps crayons in their shed?
- hakz, on 10/10/2007, -4/+47I've never known a single person that thought HIV was curable
- acr2001, on 10/10/2007, -2/+43This title is TERRIBLE. HIV CAN be cured - possibly in the future.
"Young people today think HIV has been cured" would have made a lot more sense. - erikwithaknotac, on 10/26/2007, -6/+44But I'm a born again virgin that accepted Jesus in my heart, the Lord will wipe my slate clean of any diseases......right?
- krabat, on 10/10/2007, -4/+39I'm mixing metaphors you *****.
- Zalyster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+35I don't know about HIV, but I do know that she can't get pregnant if she's on top. It's gravity, man.
- craigm01, on 10/10/2007, -1/+35The cure for HIV is being rich and famous....
- Jugalator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+32Those who aren't the brightest crayons in the shed.
- dunderballer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32Well, won't the BBC feel silly when they find out about all the HIV cures that have come up on Digg.
/sarcasm - thedragon4453, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29I use it as an ice breaker at parties. "Hey, can you cure aids?" "Damn, looks like I'm stuck with it."
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29yes, because if I want to have sex It'd be with someone I met at an AIDs rally. That's a great story to tell.
- geekchic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29or a quick shower (if you are a South African politican)
- habbofresh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24it does't work with prepubescent asian boys.
- subterfuge, on 10/10/2007, -6/+291000: Dude, they're never going to cure the bubonic plague, sad but true.
1700: Dude, they're never going to cure smallpox, sad but true.
1900: Dude, they're never going to cure tuberculosis, sad but true.
1990: Dude, they're never going to cure cervical cancer, sad but true. - MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22No no no, "some sort of cream" is how you *get* AIDS.
- Jugalator, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24"Dude, they're never going to cure AIDS, sad but true."
You know, "never" is a really long time... - CyclonusRIP, on 10/10/2007, -8/+29I thought we invented HIV to get rid of people like this? Seems to me like everything is going as planned
- DavidGX, on 10/10/2007, -5/+26Why is this guy being dugg down? It's the truth. When religious nuts intent on using government to force their religious beliefs on the country get to dictate how sex ed is run, this is what happens.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I, unfortunately, had to go through the whole abstinence thing in high school. They taught it like we were all five year olds. For example, to illustrate how to us how hard it is not to do something, they had us balance "Flopsy the mop" on our fingers and keep it from falling over.
Then they brought out a teacup set. The water in the cups represented love and the pot was supposed to be the relationship. The teachers would pour "love" in for things like holding hands, going to the movies, hugging, etc. Then we got to sex, poured the last of the water in, and said "Uh oh! No more love to give, kids!" ***** idiots.
I questioned them about their religions and if their beliefs had influenced their lessons. Then I got sent to detention. - parax, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22How do you know that? Did you ask every single person you have known if HIV is curable?
- BlueSkyfish, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21http://digg.com/health/Doc_develops_enzyme_that_ca ...
http://digg.com/health/Potential_cure_for_HIV_disc ... - AlienX3.5, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18The people that believe it can be cured will probably be too stupid to know that you are not serious.
Reminds me of a joke, something about taking the obvious warning labels off stuff, this way we get rid of all the idiots. - DrCalculus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Teens thinking AIDS can be cured is quite different than thinking it has been cured.
- euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16I knew there was a catch... *****.
- metajoe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16Sorry folks, hope's closed due to AIDS!
- Ekemet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17I know I said I wanted stupid people to die, but......
- fantasticFlan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Well, the black death and TB are bacterial. Smallpox wasn't cured, just vaccinated against. With cervical cancer I assume you're talking about that vaccine to protect against HPV, a common cause, still prevention and not a cure.
- GeneralFailure0, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16So either you're being sarcastic and trying to be funny, in which case this is not the time nor the place, or you're an idiot.
- ynggrsshppr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17+1
Stupid beliefs and stupid people go hand in hand. - subterfuge, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15"Then WTF did I spend $600 in Thailand for?"
Fun? - BlueSkyfish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15The virus is just dormant. He can still spread it, and it could reactivate at any time.
- X9001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Thats because he can afford the medication and all the other drugs you have to take to counter the side affects of those drugs. I met a woman with AIDS once...she had to take fifteen pills a day and she told me most of those were to counter the side affects.
- crazihouse, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16It's true, everyone knows that.
- MioTheGreat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Well, there have been a lot of incredible advances in topical creams over the last few years.
- Tetraca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Really? I thought the statistic was much higher.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16Maybe, after all god created HIV
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Okay Hitler.
- MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12And the US government is advocating exactly that. Check out www.4parents.gov. It's disgusting - and they're running TV ads too, I saw one today.
I keep trying to figure out some way to sue the federal government for spreading untruths and proven lies. I don't know what to do about it. Seriously, check this site out. It makes me sick.
How can we justify this program being paid for with our tax dollars?! Ugh. - kindrobot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11That's so sad. It almost sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
- zeptobyte, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1150% are lower than median. Not necessarily lower than average, unless the distribution of teen intelligences follows a perfect bell curve.
- SlamShut, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Future's closed. AIDS.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11You're right, let's kill people for not knowing something that they couldn't possibly know without us educating them. Riiiiiiiiiight...
- dssstrkl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11This argument is a bit disingenuous, since there most likely will be a cure for HIV, but we just don't have it yet. The fact that big cats and apes that are infected with their species' respective versions of HIV, but don't end up with AIDS indicates that HIV will be overcome eventually. However, "eventually" could be tomorrow or in a century. The problem is that few people are able to make the distinction.
- cnoteakacash, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I thought Bill Clinton gave $100 million dollars in counter-terrorism agreement with Israel to track down and root out terrorists in 1996. I am just throwing it out there for all the sexually deviants, but please let the rant continue.
