- ChronicColonic, on 10/10/2007, -5/+88Shooot, dat ain't nuttin. Happens all da time in West Virginia. If you don't believe me, y'all can ask my grandbrother.
- suxmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+71Whew, I'm glad that description clarified the otherwise frightening headline.
- timusca, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I love how the description intentionally left information out to make it sound like the mother screwed her own son.
Oh well, I still would have dugg it. - knde, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Apparently there are laws in Brazil that dictate surrogate mothers must be family (immediate or extended), according to a Reuters article I read earlier. And the daughter in this story didn't have any sisters and so chose to have her mother act as a surrogate. Which I think is very kind of her.
- peterjmag, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Wow, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at work before.
- Chickenlip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Downs comes from a chromosomal disorder in the DNA of the mother or father. In this case, the 51 y/o was neither.
- ngmcs8203, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12"my grandbrother"
That, my friend, was hilarious. - modusop, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11His family tree is a wreath.

- Livewire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7too*
retard... - SpyDerMann, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Just in case anyone wonders why this had to be done: "Serrao decided to serve as a surrogate mother after four years of failed attempts at pregnancy by her 27-year-old daughter."
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7So, yer daddy done your... wait. No.. Yer momma, went and roll'd in the hay with your... Aw hell, never could figger out these fam'ly trees whut aint got no branches.
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I wonder if he was in the room for the birth. now THAT would be awkward. I don't think I could ever look at her again.
- PresidentSoup, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6That's gotta make the father feel awkward.
- kent1146, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8I was thinking "God, this story must be from the south.
But I didn't expect THAT far south. - khalidhajsaleh, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8very disturbing if you ask me
- PurpZeY, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I think the most messed up thing is that her husband had to ***** his mother-in-law. Imagine Thanksgiving Dinner! /sarcasm (for anyone to retarded to realize)
- JamesTorrence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Actually, my 17 year old sister gave birth to her very own grandchild when she was 15. Now she's pregnant again with her own niece. Understandably my Dad is very disappointed in her. So was my mother. She moved out all together.
- acid0426, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Ask mom for allowance then ask grandma for a cookie.
- diggahole, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3this is gross. So many kids need to be adopted in Brazil and they decide to do this instead.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4im confused.
- dcd722, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Well down in Alabama, its normally uncles giving birth to nephews.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Before everyone goes and judges them harshly, seahorse social structures aren't well studied. It could be perfectly acceptable for all we know.
- Lenny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Am I the only one who instantly thought of futurama?
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Tell me about it! I couldn't believe what I was reading for a second. On the flip side, this isn't much better. Think about the mother-in-law problems that chicks hubby's gonna have. I predict suicide within 5 years.
- s0nicfreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It's great how many people defy nature's telling them not to have kids to fulfill their own want for children instead of adopting one the many already existing children who need homes.
- gn0stik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What if it was "Male geneticist gives birth to extinct dinosaur." Would that be next century?
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Grandma gonna be breast feeding too?
- alexkorova, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2As a father of two I am saying this:
Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha
No, seriously, you are in for the ride of your life. - qwertydvorak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2applies here: http://immyowngrandpa.ytmnd.com/
- Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This saves me from having to come up with any other jokes in this forum...
- offspring06, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2There was a kid in my class whose mother was also his half sister.
- logic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Should anyone these days really be /trying/ to get pregnant at 23^H^Hall?
- imjohn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Many many years ago, when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow as pretty as can be,
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red,
My father fell in love with her and soon the two were wed.
Chorus:
I'm my own grandpa, I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so --
I'm my own grandpa.
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life,
For my daughter was my mother, for she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby thus became a brother-in-law to dad,
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad,
For if he was my uncle then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter, who of course was my step-mother.
Chorus:
Father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandchild for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother and it makes me blue,
Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.
Oh, if my wife's my grandmother then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it it nearly drives me wild.
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw --
As the husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa.
Chorus: - offspring06, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2yeah it doesn't make since. In order to give birth to her grandchild she would have to get pregnant by her son. If she was 17 years old than how could she have a son that could get her pregnant.
- riverstyx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Pffft, america was raised on incestuous families.
- NoOneButMe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Becoming more and more common with modern tech .. hasnt this/a story like this been on digg a few times before?
- dubbleenerd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2And, this report comes exactly nine months after the article about a woman in Brazil agreeing to be a surrogate for her own (to-be) grandchildren :P
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"Who's your mommy?"
- MCam, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Odd situation but the babies are cute.
- s0nicfreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1kids are starting puberty earlier and earlier...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow a mum who is also your sister?
THATS ***** if you think about it - acdcfanbill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh, a lesson in not-changing-history from 'Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandfather.'
- delinka, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"I love how the description intentionally left information out to make it sound like the mother screwed her own son."
Did you see the word "surrogate"? And did you happen to research how that usually works? - darlyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Frightening as in Back to the Future frightening?
- Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"...And been fired so quickly.."
Stay the /f/ off digg at work, slave! - spacecoyote1966, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0At first glance I thought this story was going to be about time travel.
- faithfreedom, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1They didn't say how she got pregnant, though. It could be natural method for all I know :)
- RabidTreeFrog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I have to agree with you there.
- YellowJKT, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Here's to keepin' it in tha fam'ly!
