  • 0tis, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4If you read the article, it does say that the statistics show that smoking increases your risk of death. What I think you read is the bit that says that *past a certain age* the risk of death by heart disease is about the same for smokers as for non-smokers. However, it also says that a 35-year old smoker is SEVEN times as likely to die from heart disease as a 35-year old non-smoker. So, that's not really defending Big Tobacco's "death sticks", is it?

    I for one would prefer it if the article linked to the damn charts though.
