- ninjarabbits, on 08/14/2008, -4/+127your mom sounds like she's a real nut buster
- louiebaur, on 08/13/2008, -3/+82I am up late everynight because I am on digg.
- kingjafee, on 08/13/2008, -6/+73Well my girl kicked me out and I am living out of a hotel that pretty much sums up why I am up at 3AM...
For today we are going on 22 hours awake let's see if we can top yesterday's of 36 hours.... - alapoet, on 08/13/2008, -3/+69I'm one of those who has no problem going to sleep the first time, but then I have problems STAYING asleep. And once I wake up at like 3 or 4 a.m., it's hard to fall asleep again.
- sjbdallas, on 08/14/2008, -1/+56Well, between work, DIGG, and porn, there's just no time left for sleep.
- virtualblogger, on 08/13/2008, -2/+41I'm dugging this at 3am
- ironeus, on 08/13/2008, -3/+40Try turning on the TV, the worst programs air at 3 am; it may be boring enough to send you right off to see the Sandman.
- TheAthlon, on 08/13/2008, -0/+36I sleep twice a day on work days, first a nap of about 2 to 3 hours after work, and then about 4 hours at night. I get up at 4:00 a.m. so I have a bit of a wierd schedule. I've been living this way for about 20 years as it's the only way to really have a life with my work schedule, I later discovered that bi-phasic sleep is not at all unique and works for a lot of people.
- lulzitsadigg, on 08/14/2008, -0/+32Why does she need a car? There aren't any roads between the kitchen and bedroom
- ryan83189, on 08/13/2008, -0/+31I have alot of trouble sleeping. I can't get to sleep and I have to sleep 10 hours+. One night I was playing with some radios and I put a tape recorder on the receiver, I left it on all night, the next day I played the tape back, heard the radios, me watching TV, some snoring, then, incredibly loudly I heard me yelling "Shut the f-ck up!" and proceeding to shout and talk for at least and hour, mostly in gibberish. I don't know when or how long I was really doing it, because my tape recored was on VOR and I have no recollection of my dream. That explained why I need alot of sleep.
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+23Trust me. She is.
- lesleye, on 08/13/2008, -1/+24aaaah, sleep, yes I remember that...
- alapoet, on 08/13/2008, -3/+25I'm one of those who tells rude ***** to kiss my old guy ass.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -6/+27I'm up late every night because I'm looking for Morpheus, then one night my monitor goes funny. There's a knock at the door and my buddy is there with his crew. He offers me Mescalin, but I don't do hard drugs so I go with him to this club and i meet this hacker named Trinity who I thought was a guy but is actually this hot chick and then...well i save humanity. THAT'S why I stay up at night!
- mdbsat, on 08/14/2008, -1/+22I cannot sleep because of the gnomes that come out play at night in my room. They tell me all sorts of bad things about myself. Its awful. Help me, please someone help me.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+21Tyler Durden: You have night jobs because you can't sleep . . . or you stay up and make soap.
- DteK, on 08/14/2008, -0/+20because c++ code wont compile
- DadsSpace, on 08/13/2008, -0/+19I used to be rubbish at sleeping. Ironically since having a baby, I've got a lot better at it - probably just through exhaustion! ;)
There's definitely a lot to be said for setting yourself a good sleep routine, making sure you got to bed at the same time every day, even if you don't sleep - eventually your body will adjust and the happy sleep you used to dream of will be yours! - theOster, on 08/14/2008, -0/+18drink a beer, a little masterbatio and you're all set
but seriously - i've found the best thing for getting a good sleep, is really exercise and a regular pattern (just like the doc in fight club says :) get a bike and go biking (not leisure riding, i mean make yourself tired) for an hour or two at night or after work. after a week, i guarantee you'll be sleeping better. - inactive, on 08/13/2008, -0/+18Read. It works.
- Gioleb, on 08/14/2008, -0/+18mp3 please?
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -2/+18porn.
- merripen, on 08/14/2008, -1/+17This is an interesting topic, but a pointless article.
I've dealt with insomnia for a decade now. I find that tea, meditation, and a regular bedtime really help. Other than that, I just watch Simpsons episodes until I doze off. Because those never ever get old. - Treshnell, on 08/14/2008, -0/+15I get most of my..uh..work...done at night...
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -0/+15Don't feel bad , were you married? it could always be worse. Imagine your wife spending your money driving a car you pay for , while cheating on you. Then you get to pay for the divorce! wonderful!
- inactive, on 08/14/2008, -3/+18Holy ***** man - Never was there a better time for a "your mom" joke.
- spookyttws, on 08/14/2008, -0/+13A nice bottle of good vino does the trick. It's not acoholism, it's just part of my nightly routine. :)
- Depthfunction, on 08/14/2008, -0/+13What keeps me up at night is the existential horror of it all. We spend at least a third of our short lives in a state of unconsciousness. That's time we'll never get back again. Why not rage against time and against our mortality by denying ourselves sleep . . .
. . . and spending our time on Digg? - virtualblogger, on 08/13/2008, -2/+15I found that reading helped to get to sleep, but it also ruinged my eyes.
Now im up on the computer every night.... still it is better than TV - numb, on 08/14/2008, -0/+13I know what you mean. It really sucks when it takes 12+ hours to get 8- hours of sleep.
- aserer511, on 08/14/2008, -2/+14fap fap fap fap fap
- Agraek, on 08/14/2008, -0/+11Digg intervention!!
- Dozernotz, on 08/14/2008, -0/+11My sleep is bad. A lot of my friends too. I blame our monitors. Constantly staring at a bright LCD backlight is bound to be confusing the hell out of our biological clocks. Usually if I stop computing a couple hours before bed, it's better.
- DerangedPenguin, on 08/13/2008, -9/+20we are a people of problems aren't we. But fear not there is a pill for your sleep disorder. Have a back ache another pill, feeling down about having to take two pills to get through the day, guess what we have pills for that also. Is taking three pills giving blocked arteries, guess what here are pills number 4 and 5. Little five year old Jimmy getting on the prescription addicted teachers nerves give Jimmy a pill to help the teacher. Turn the T.V. off, ignore the computer and digg, read a book go for a walk look at the bloody stars outside for a while... if you can see them. Stop whining and get some sleep.
- GPSCenter, on 08/13/2008, -0/+11Sounds like something worth trying.
- bipolarruledout, on 08/14/2008, -1/+11Blasphemy
- duggdowncatisad, on 08/14/2008, -0/+10Case of Red Bull... thirty dollars.
Crossing twelve time zones in a private jet, flying westbound... twenty five thousand dollars.
Staying awake for 36 hours in a single day... priceless. - bipolarruledout, on 08/14/2008, -1/+10What do you call a musician without a girlfriend?
Homeless.
/Props to Ben Folds. - topherbook, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9Mastrubatio? Is that Italian?
- camino262, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9I have an evil monkey in my closet that keeps me from sleeping.
- DenTPuzz, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9I have sleep apnea and I'm supposed to wear a sleep mask, but it drives me nuts. I wake up several times a night, and never really get rested sleep, but I started taking a 45 minute nap in my car at lunch times and that seems to keep me ticking over. At least I've stopped falling asleep at red lights now...
- Thorpe, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9Well, work doesn't always start at 9 AM for me. I love going to bed late and not having to wake up at all in the morning.
4:06 AM right now. - Shiftgood, on 08/14/2008, -0/+9cant it be both?
- xOKxWhy, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8I think you just need to see a psychiatrist.
- Rainemaker, on 08/14/2008, -1/+9I use temazepam. According to experts (wikipedia) it is a sedative-hypnotic, and apparently it's habit forming. I'm not convinced I'm addicted to it yet, but that's something an addict would say.
- lukas88, on 08/14/2008, -1/+9Best way to regulate your sleeping is to wake up at the same time every day and don't take naps. Don't use alcohol or sleep aids to help you fall asleep.
- BugMeNot2, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8Read a book.
That puts me to sleep after a couple minutes. - getrealnow, on 08/14/2008, -1/+9Its not easy filling up a terabyte of hentai tentacle porn.
- CrushThemTorg, on 08/14/2008, -0/+8Years of staring into monitors, Mountain Dew Amp, flexible work schedules and good late night TV have assured that my circadian rhythms are shot like an elderly marathon runner's knees. I'm essentially nocturnal – too bad I can't get a respectable job as such.
- johnnychandler, on 08/14/2008, -0/+7This would be me! It seems like the best time to work is late at night when things aren't so busy! Nobody calling , nobody knocking, and the tire squeals are way less here in rural Alabama!
