"It takes a lot of inhibition to control the Wang," says Man. - xOKxWhy, on 01/20/2009, -2/+64Because we aren't in the kitchen all day :P
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -3/+51maybe b/c men don't crave chocolate cake the way crackheads crave crack
- KingGorilla, on 01/20/2009, -0/+43Men are too lazy to eat.
- wefarrell, on 01/20/2009, -0/+42"If you said you liked barbecued ribs, we'd put a big portion of them in front of you," says Wang. "We'd warm them in a microwave first so you couldn't get away from the smell, and we'd give you a cotton ball with a bit of the food on it so you could taste it. Then we'd have one of the nurses describe how the food was made."
what a cruel study. - pcslugster, on 01/20/2009, -0/+28I first read it as better "drivers"...
- xero69, on 01/20/2009, -0/+26This is easy to explain, men think of sex quite often and it overrides thought of food.
Boobies > BBQ - ELCad, on 01/20/2009, -1/+26Because men don't talk about their diet every waking minute of the day.
- serif69, on 01/20/2009, -2/+26If they had done the test with bacon, there would have been very different results.
- TimDigg, on 01/20/2009, -0/+17The key for most people is they never get to the point that they actually like the food they're eating.
For example I actually got to the point where I actually enjoy drinking water instead of soda. I actually enjoy eating fruit instead of candy.
In fact I've actually gotten to the point where I have to be careful I don't eat to many bananas for fear of potassium overdose...or fear that I eat too many apples and clementines...
Most people never get to this point and that is the problem. If you are eating veggies and really want junk....well....you can only go against your own will for but so long. - vgnezdilov, on 01/20/2009, -2/+18Because we can pee standing up.
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -0/+11So you're the guy that keeps sitting in the urinal.
- diggface5000, on 01/20/2009, -1/+11I won't lie- once I read the BBQ rib part, I was too distracted to pay attention to the rest.
- shadowspawn, on 01/20/2009, -5/+14I thought it was just me. I can fast for days (sans water), and have, to clear my head. My wife can't understand it. Neither of us can abstain from sex more than 5 days without some serious consequences (and we are married so everything that comes with it), but for food? Hell, one day is the max for her.
- beesaretasty, on 01/20/2009, -0/+9It seems that women put more pressure on other women than men do...
- jehan60188, on 01/20/2009, -0/+823 volunteers?
hardly a conclusive study... - MrAsparagus, on 01/20/2009, -0/+8Worry not Digitalpencil.... It's not our fault we're on the winning team.
- joeolivas, on 01/20/2009, -0/+7"Welcome to Sprockets, I'm your host, Dieter."
I don't know, I always imagined a man playing that role. - mindhaq, on 01/20/2009, -2/+9Dieter is a german male first name. No wonder men are better Dieters than women.
Really, this sounds almost like Peter, just with a D. - YoThisBAlec, on 01/20/2009, -1/+8That probably came in handy back in the nomadic days. Wouldn't want that overbearing pang of hunger to distract from one's ability to hunt or else the food runs away.
- jjones20, on 01/20/2009, -1/+8I have seen the wrath of a hungry woman, it is not pretty, it can ruin their day, and subsequently, yours too.
- 4degrees, on 01/20/2009, -0/+7I wouldn't go as far as to say "superior genes". Its really just "different genes". To describe a simple difference in the words of superiority/inferiority destroys credibility
- diggface5000, on 01/20/2009, -0/+7False- the love of bacon transcends gender.
- diggface5000, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6Well they don't have enough deep fryers to let Paula Deen have a go at it, and Rachael Ray's food probably doesn't taste good if you have to listen to her talking.
- digitalpencil, on 01/20/2009, -1/+7cooking?
/s please god don't beat me! - yacinebouatrous, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6title makes much more sense like that
- rald84, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6"Wang takes a lot of man to control the inhibition," says it.
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -2/+8"It takes lot of man to control the Wang", says inhibition.
- starslinger72, on 01/20/2009, -0/+6I disagree, look at the iron chefs...
only like one female in the group. - phronko, on 01/20/2009, -0/+5I do. :(
I'd get a sex change operation, but I already have boobs. - dracostimpy, on 01/20/2009, -0/+5For me, BBQ = OGC
- Testiculese, on 01/20/2009, -1/+6I could have sworn I just saw the same thing submitted by a non-paid digger a few hours ago.
- Cravitar, on 01/20/2009, -0/+5Good story. Please expand on how you don't overeat and thereby remain healthy. Remarkable.
- Trav1289, on 01/20/2009, -0/+5We can?
- Cravitar, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4(BBQ+OGC) > OGC > BBQ
- serif69, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4...will you marry me?
- Markab3, on 01/20/2009, -1/+5I LOVE chocolate...but I can't eat it because then I'll get fat. But it's SOOOO good!
- Hraes, on 01/20/2009, -0/+4"Man takes a lot of Wang to control the it," says inhibition.
1234, 1432, 3421, 4312, and lots more left here. - inactive, on 01/20/2009, -1/+5Wang always knows best.
- vgnezdilov, on 01/20/2009, -1/+5Don't mind him. That's just Larry Craig.
- JeddHampton, on 01/20/2009, -1/+5She's going to eat half of what's on your plate anyway...
- diggface5000, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3Um.. congrats? This is digg, not a pro-ana message board. Try live journal.
- Barackalypse, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3Short answer: willpower. Men are better able to cope with not getting their way or getting what they want. Women, either through genetics or socialization, have expectations that they seem quite unwilling to modify, temper, or compromise on, and when things happen differently from those expectations, they don't cope as well with it.
- outoforder, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3I always find it amusing when chubby/big girls constantly eat crappy food. Its not hard to change your diet and eat healthy stuff. People are just weak - mentally. They're also lazy.
- jbak, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3I thought the title said "Why Men Are Better Drivers".... A truth that also should be dissected
- wertach, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3Damn!!!! You have a woman that cooks? I do all the cooking around here...........
- gmiley, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3I'm going to be thinking of ribs all day today.
- Hraes, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3Love of bacon transcends space and time, not just gender.
- matthewf01, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3A good point, overlooked for 'temporary dieters' --- they don't incorporate their new diet as a lifestyle change, merely as a 'this is going to be what i'll do until I lose some weight', which is why they don't keep it off.
Finding or creating foods that are GOOD for you that you still ENJOY is a happy place to be! - nilhilustfreder, on 01/20/2009, -0/+3A bit quick on the defence, aren't we?
