- Foxprowl, on 02/03/2009, -6/+131Just for note: Tap water is one of the most tested and monitored liquids on the planet. It is heavily scrutinized by the FDA. Bottle water on the other hand falls under no such laws and are at an enormously higher risk of heavy metals, toxins, and microbes.
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+30Of course since a great majority of bottled water is simply pre-packaged tap water.....
- lkoba, on 02/04/2009, -5/+34They forgot to mention that when we drink water we drink HYDROGEN, I ***** you not, that ***** is FLAMMABLE and can explode in any moment
- masahlko, on 02/04/2009, -2/+30sounds believable but just wondering source?
I drink tap btw - inkubusfan, on 02/03/2009, -27/+54More useless crap from Mr. Babyman. Buried.
- haentz, on 02/04/2009, -3/+22What? Did they really have to illustrate this with 5 pictures? Who is this site targeted to? 5 year-olds?
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -4/+19TO EVERYONE: This is not why U.S. water is full of medication. The reason is that hospitals dump millions of pounds of medication into our water every year. One of many articles about it, which I'm hoping that someone can get to the front page: http://www.ajc.com/services/content/news/stories/2 ...

- credential101, on 02/04/2009, -7/+18oh look, its mrbabyman making the front page
- dementedd, on 02/04/2009, -3/+12Key word, TRACE.
- Princeamor, on 02/04/2009, -2/+10Fluoride is missing on that list of chemicals that is in the water...
- bradhunt5, on 02/04/2009, -1/+9Oxygen is also flammable as well, so yep pretty screwed.
- dOOBiEx213, on 02/04/2009, -0/+7Well, in any case... I take responsibility for the THC in your tap water.
- deeauds, on 02/04/2009, -8/+15This is highly incorrect. When drugs go through the system, they are broken down into their metabolic by-products before they are excreted. That's why we have different dosages for different drugs depending on their metabolism and pharmacology.
By the time it hits the bowl, they're not the drugs that you had injested.
Also, it doesn't go exactly like the picture. Once it hits the gut - it goes through the endothelium of your gut into your blood stream where it travels to do its business, from then they are broken down into their metabolites - filtered by the liver and excreted.
Really MrBabyMan? Why would you put such rubbish on here? - Evolutuon, on 02/04/2009, -0/+7Would the unregulated water also be in sodas and other bottled liquids? I hear how bad bottled water can be from people and then I see them chug a soda. Both drinks take water so wouldn't they ignore purifying water in soda as well?
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -1/+8More like flushed
- Jektal, on 02/04/2009, -0/+6Yep. Hell, while we're having this discussion, there really isn't any Santa Claus either. Sorry.
- Evontno, on 02/03/2009, -9/+15Yes it is way old news. However you ^ and others not caring is nothing new either. While this may not be a disastrous problem, it is a part of a much bigger problem of waste water and its' effects. Medicines, PBT (persistent bio-accumulative toxins), even those anti bacterials in your hand soap are having a drastic effect on everything they come in contact with. Water quality is a serious issue and should be discussed whenever possible.
/stepsoffthesoapbox - GoldenGlovez, on 02/04/2009, -4/+10Screw my multi-vitamin, in these economic times im switching to tap water.
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -0/+5He's jumpin'. Drugs.
- Genocide4, on 02/04/2009, -0/+5So wait a minute. The water that we drink used to have poo in it?? :(
- bmystry, on 02/04/2009, -0/+5Sure its clean at the processing facility but how clean is it once it gets to your house after traveling through miles of pipes and stuff?
- Gatesophile, on 02/04/2009, -3/+7I would also argue that sometimes people flush their unused medication down the toilet, which would also contaminate the water in a much larger way. So I don't think it's just what people are excreting that is contaminating the water.
But as long as the water is filtered well, and correctly, it's fine. As long as it's done right. Otherwise it's an issue. - inactive, on 02/04/2009, -3/+7Blame his blind-digging minions.
- treehugger87, on 02/04/2009, -0/+4So can you refer me to the scientific study that says that a trace amount of carbamazepine taken daily over the course of 10 years is completely harmless?
- imprestavel, on 02/04/2009, -4/+7Does it mean that drinking tap water treats all those diseases for free?
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -1/+4You realize that's pretty ineffective in removing trace elements of the drugs in question.
- Kucher, on 02/04/2009, -1/+4640KB of aqua memory should be enough for everyone.
- drunkenoaf, on 02/04/2009, -3/+6Well, if you buy an advanced mass spectrometer, you'll detect almost anything in tap water at trace amounts.
The point is... they're trace amounts.
Furthermore, there's normally a few orders of magnitude of safety margin between what's permitted, and what's still regarded as safe. - fr3akystyley, on 02/04/2009, -0/+3Awesome, now I'm always resistant to heart disease, epilepsy, bipolar disorder, pregnancy, high cholesterol, pain, seizures, bacteria, urinary tract infections, weeds, and di-sulfide bonds. It's like having a super power.
- PottSie2, on 02/04/2009, -3/+6I'll start worrying when I see corn come out of my tap.
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -1/+4This graphic brought to you by Aquafina!
- bradhunt5, on 02/04/2009, -0/+3Don't do drugs, just drink water!
- JedicodeWarrior, on 02/04/2009, -1/+4How is this garbage relevant?
- directedition, on 02/04/2009, -0/+3I think you're in the pocket of big water!
- DigitAl56K, on 02/04/2009, -0/+3Since when did you feel confident in trusting the FDA?
- Jektal, on 02/04/2009, -0/+3@liamvickery: Yeah, you're a noob. The issue with power users isn't that a lot of people read the articles they submit and then decide to digg them. The problem is that the power user will send all of their friends (several hundred) a shout, asking them to digg the article. Most of those friends will then blindly digg the article without ever reading it, so that in return the original power user (here, MrBabyMan) will be more likely to blindly digg articles that they submit and spam via shouts.
It's a ***** system and could be easily fixed: remove shouts! - TriggerHappyGTR, on 02/04/2009, -3/+5Ahh I remember the good 'ol days, you know, the dawn of man years. You used to be able to go to any stream of water anywhere and drink it unfiltered. Yep, better times.
