- NikoKun, on 05/09/2008, -2/+8Jeezus... More of this garbage? Are you kidding me? Boy, they'll say anything, no matter how backwards or blatantly false, wont they? -_- These misinformations and lies are extremely harmful, not just to people, but also their trust in the government, and the truth!
First, look at alcohol, look at the horrible things THAT does to someone's life, depression, anger, violence, etc... Pot is no comparison to that at all... And Alcohol is the one that's legal? W...T...F?
Besides, such a claim couldn't be farther from the truth! Marijuana is a very useful way to TREAT depression! I can't think of a better way, because all the pharma drugs available, either don't do what the patient wants, have horrible side effects, or make the patient's personality change or give them horrible mood swings.
Whereas Marijuana, does what you want it to do! It makes you happy, helps you forget about stress and depression, clears your mind from dwelling on things that suck. It's a well documented way to decrease overall depression! If your depressed, go light up a joint, and then tell me it doesn't work for depression. LOL
The only thing making pot-users depressed, is knowing that their life improving drug of choice, is illogically illegal, and that getting arrested for pot, can easily ruin their life! This is the law, CREATING the unnecessary harms and depression!
If you go here:

You'll find a whole bunch of articles and studies about how well Marijuana works to treat depression... among other things. - SpeshulEd, on 05/09/2008, -1/+6How the drug czars still get away with spitting this ***** despite all evidence to the contrary is beyond me. Even if this is true, it's a far cry from the harm done by it being illegal. John Walters, go ***** yourself.
- munleymun, on 05/10/2008, -1/+3Does "a White House Report" actually mean anything these days?
- Rapter09, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2"It's somewhat Russian roulette. There are so many factors, emotional, psychological, biological. You can't predict the experimentation and how it will impact a kid."
Welcome to life, buddy. - chrgrose, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1This just in: alcohol is more dangerous if your a raging alcoholic.
- the13thzen, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2Anti-marijuana propaganda from the WHITE HOUSE? Surely this is a bad joke of some sort.
Look, the public is totally "onto" the federal government in regards to the unjust nature of cannabis being illegal. Throw in the towel, White House, because we still are not buying your ever-accumulating number of lies. The banning of the herb within the U.S. in the first place was based on blatant racism. Fact. - cool555breeze, on 05/10/2008, -1/+1I also see that idiots that believe any White House "Report" are out too... as usual.
BTW, if big Pharma could make a profit with it, it would be legal tomorrow, if it killed people or not! - cool555breeze, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0Because the so-called "Drug War" makes the gov BILLIONS? Follow the money...
- JohnDo, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1*****!
- inactive, on 05/10/2008, -1/+1The safety and efficacy of marijuana as medicine is unmatched by anything dreamed up in a laboratory.
Currently 12 states have compassionate use exceptions to their marijuana laws with about that many working toward such a provision.
The White House drug czar has refused to debate anyone who knows anything about marijuana and we need to elect a president who does not put arresting 900,000 Americans a year for marijuana as a priority. - cool555breeze, on 05/10/2008, -1/+1FYI...
Drug Deaths Per Year:
Tobacco - 450,000+
Alcohol - 150,000+
Marijuana - 0 (ZERO) - MetaMars, on 05/10/2008, -1/+1The only way that you get depressed when you're stoned is if you don't have enough money for food. :(
- inactive, on 05/10/2008, -1/+1I see we have closed minded idiots on digg
- agnellina, on 05/11/2008, -1/+0Something I'm surprised no one has mentioned: Maybe the reason for the increase of mental illnesses isn't pot, but people who have mental illnesses are more likely to smoke pot. In other words, people who are already depressed are more likely to smoke pot because it makes you feel happy! Just because two things happen one after the other, it doesn't mean that one is causing the other. I remember an LSAT practice test question that said something to the effect that pot is a gateway drug because 98.8% of heroin users had smoked pot before doing heroin. By that logic, 100% of heroin users drank water before using heroin, so therefore water is the ultimate gateway drug.
- inactive, on 05/10/2008, -2/+1Well I see the drugged-up potheads are out in force on Digg - as usual.
