- ZiggityZhang, on 07/06/2008, -0/+11My grandpa suffered from Alzheimer's for about 6 years. I saw as his cognitive abilities gradually degenerated from initially forgetfulness to eventually being unable to feed himself or function normally without aid. He eventually passed away from a heart attack, bedridden and only a shell of his former self. While losing loved ones other illnesses are undoubtedly sad as well, it's quite a different story when you have to lose someone who is otherwise physically healthy. I wish everyday for a cure so that no one ever has to experience what families like mine did.

- LittleDas, on 07/06/2008, -0/+4Someone needs to find these scientists a better renderer. Devoting all that computing power to imaging the molecule and then displaying it with some 15 second software renderer just seems like a waste.
- jamesduh, on 07/06/2008, -0/+4Looks like there is a butterfly floating in my brain.
[chase after butterfly] - ElTomacco, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3No, I can't say that I did.
- kd7tck, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3there is increasing evidence that some cases of Alzheimer's is a misdiagnosed form of mad cow disease.

I'm not sure if it is B4 or B12...however, if you know someone in this situation ask if their doctor has looked into this possibility. I think the statistics are about 10% are mis-diagnosed this way. This is from what I have heard from Dr. Dean Edell and also from a friend whose father was mis-diagnosed. Sorry, I don't have time to look up the exact details for you.

- beauley, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1In order to sell food to millions of consumers, the food industry must make it appealing to as many as possible, from the young child to the elderly. In order to accomplish this, individual food suppliers use additives to make their foods taste better.

- creatunity, on 12/12/2008, -0/+0It's totally fascinating what doctors and scientists are able to do to track the movements and motions of the brain and other body parts.
http://www.acaiberrymd.com - 5starpr, on 08/09/2008, -0/+0I know exactly what you went through. My mother lived with it for 10 years. My family watched and grieved. Doctors of ten years past were prescribing Aracept...it seems that they are still doing the same thing. Can it be possible that there are only 3 or 4 drugs at this time? It's hard to believe that millions of dollars have been given to research and this is as far as it has come. Maybe they re waiting for epidemic portions to arrive.
