- HenvY, on 10/11/2007, -4/+137Man, you know we live in a crappy world when fashion media and young girls everywhere think the girl on the left has the perfect body and the girl on the right is fat.
- blahtastic, on 10/11/2007, -9/+120Your single comment shows that you have no sense of humor.
(Oh, and you completely ignored the fact that according to the advertisement that observation is correct) - sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -26/+110Hmm, seems to me the problem with the skinny girl is no hips, butt or boobs. Not sure how 5 pounds of new flesh will fix that.
- PueSi, on 10/11/2007, -11/+85Girls back then looked 100 times better.
I don't know about you guys but skeletons don't turn me on. - mattxb, on 10/11/2007, -4/+59Nothing like the Great Depression to take a few unwanted pounds off.
(and some wanted ones too) - unloud, on 10/11/2007, -1/+51Actually, the more likely culprit is fructose corn syrup.
- inspecality, on 10/11/2007, -1/+50Weight Gain 4000!
BEEFCAKE! - Zaxcomp, on 10/11/2007, -5/+48Are you kidding me, skinny people who cant gain weight is certainly not a solved problem. I was on a 6000 calorie a day diet, with protein supplements and regular exercise, for 6 months and gained 0 pounds. Then I finally decided I should stop listening to people telling me how I should look, and just let nature take its course. One year later, 0 pounds heavier and an almost 6 inches taller.

- voyetra8, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24I hear ya. I thought I was skinny at 6'1" and 155. Some lines I've heard from people: "Are you a drug addict?" "Do you have AIDS?" "Are you sick?" "You look like you escaped from a concentration camp." "When did they take your feeding tube out?" etc.... :)
I just laugh about it because I don't have any other choice.
*shrug* - arugulord, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24Listen I like big butts and I cannot lie. You other brothers can't deny, that when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get sprung! I just wanna pull up front, because I notice that butt was stuffed, really deep in the jeans she's wearing I'm hooked and I can't stop staring.....!

I feel fat now...-_- Thanks a lot guys - metalhead3767, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Those are psychological disorders. There still hungry, they just refuse to eat.
- Artifez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17Anorexia I can see it helping but Bulimia might just end up causing larger binges and the subsequent purges.
- liuite, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20i discovered 9 years ago how to gain weight...eat a single serving of pasta before going to bed.
- joesmeat, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18If you cannot gain weight while you're eating a huge amount of calories, you should probably see a doctor.
My friend was like that, turns out he has Celiac's disease. - STARTSOMETHING, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16this only shows people like an average body size
not too skinny not to fat the girl on the right wasn't to me fat - mikesbaker, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19jesus corvette, I'm sorry cordouche, do you just troll all the upcoming stories hoping that one will hit the front page with you having an early comment on the thread.
- Noah0504, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Yeah, I wish both of these would help me out. I'm 5'11 and I weigh 120 pounds. I can gain weight if I try. Hmm, maybe I have a tapeworm...

This is an interesting phenomenon, and I suspect it's worse in the West than in other parts of the world. As our population gets larger people's "appropriate weight" perception adjusts to what they are seeing every day.
I am at the very top of my ideal weight range (5'8", 170lbs) or maybe a little over. I am frequently referred to by people I work with as "skinny" or "thin". My wife adjusted her diet and exercise levels a few years ago and finally dropped to *within* her ideal range, and people she knew were worried that she was "losing too much weight".
If you are used to seeing fat people everyday, being fat becomes your "norm". Use objective information to decide if your weight is okay. - Dunadan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Noah, you sure you haven't stolen my identity? The description you gave of yourself fits me exactly.
*eyes Noah suspiciously* - wolphkaat, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14When I grow up, I want to be a lardo on workmans comp just like Dad.
- mutatron, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13Clearly it's all that iodized salt we eat today that's making us fat.
- RickySan65, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8erhm.. why did back then Kelp put on weight and nowadays kelp is used in slimming supplements? did kelp change over the years? Combine that with a already overactive thyroid and you gain, but rather loose weight like there's no tomorrow.
- HarryHunt, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Apparently a lot of people in the US have used that product (excessively) and now they're looking for an antidote
- Nimroy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Well, i like skinny girls.
I know that not a right or moral to 'think', but i can't argue with my taste ;) - fluxion, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8looks more like an ad for a bra stuffer. chick looks the same, her boobs just magically got bigger. with an awkward pointyness.
- cyroxos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I can definitely sympathize with you, although i have put on some weight by building muscle. I was 6'3 @ 130, then am now at 140, so its a bit better.
- Smills, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7136 pounds (62 kilos), 6'1". Seems there are more skinny nerds than I knew.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12See some unbelievable ads from the past:

Shocking! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8So-called naturally skinny people are still skinny. There are just fewer of them.
For those rare freaks who literally can't gain weight: Your body needs something to do with the calories. You need to power lift. If you avoid sugar, fat, and over training (the three enemies of the skinny-fat geek), you will gain weight. It will seem to take forever, as you are starting from nothing, but you will gain muscle mass. - danep, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6*sigh* okay that's exactly the kind of comment that I'm tired of hearing. Sometimes, people just have a high metabolism and are THIN (6'2, 145), and there's absolutely nothing that will change that. Trust me. Unless you have serious symptoms besides just "thin", the doctor'll just laugh and tell you the same thing.
- bigd063, on 10/11/2007, -3/+86'1" and 140lbs.
Someday there will be a war between the big and the thin, and the thin will win. - tw0k1ngs, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8@ Corvette...
Thank you. I had thought that sexism was all but eliminated... but thank you for the reminder. - venom8599, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Just use Dr. Nick's special diet for dangerously underweight individuals like Homer Simpson. Just rub any prospective food on paper, and if it turns transparent, you're good to go.
- ligatures, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I think skinny guys are totally hot. Huge guys with muscle are really unattractive and gross.
- radu79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It's not only the girls that want to get some meat on.
For the longest time, I had a lot of trouble gaining any weight at all. I tried everything, even eating 3-4K calories a day, and didn't help much.
Eventually, I found the secret: Eat a lot AND go to the gym. And go to the gym every week, or else you will start losing weight (I am talking about thepeople that are naturally skinny). - yahoofrom, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Boob
- 18000rpm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wow look at the boobies on the fat girl...did they have Photoshop back then?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4On a somewhat related topic, Alice the Snorg girl looks to me like she's a solid 140 lbs or so, and in pretty good condition. Which to me is just about perfect.
I really don't care for emaciated girls. They are on all the magazine covers because fashion designers and art directors are mostly homosexuals whose ideal of beauty is a 15 year old boy. - hamobu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It is natural for women to have higher body fat percentage. Extra layer of fat is what gives woman's skin a soft feel when you touch it. I think that 150 lb is an ideal weight for an average sized woman (not 120-130 lb as they are promoting now)
- vornan19, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I'm just looking for an average girl who likes skinny guys.
- appleswitch, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4"the more likely culprit is fructose corn syrup"
*Drinks more classic Dr Pepper*
Sure, it costs a little more, but it comes in this badass 16oz classic design and It's made with Cane Sugar, completely High Fructose Corn Syrup free.
( I really recommend you look for them, they taste so much better, once you go sugar you can't go back ) - aserer511, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I love how that ad states that you will grow boobs if you drink 'protein'
- knde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4What if you are a female?
I'm female and just can not gain weight. It's been my bane since I was a teenager. I'm 5'4 and weigh only 45kg and I HATE it! I'm half-black and have no “behind” to speak off, which is a tragedy. I don't want to work out because I'm somewhat already naturally muscular (or defined) and I’m not trying to be a super-toned woman. I eat what I want, when I want and as much as I want. My doctor said it might have something to do with my pituitary glands....I got those checked out and it wasn't the culprit. So as far as I know I just can’t gain weight. Do you have any tips that don’t involve working out? Thanks! -
