Have a salty Chinese lunch? Watch your BP spike. Start to get back into shape and loose some pounds off the midsection? Watch you BP improve. Simple, really. Sure there are meds, but there are also many lifestyle changes you could do to improve your BP and this device could guide you in the right direction.

www.ndrf.org - inactive, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Not really sure. This technology has been around for quite some time now.
Hey guess what? There is now a device that we can stick 2 slices of bread and it turns it a golden-brown color. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1So now when I start screaming at the idiots working at worstbuy my ring will be beeping?
- inactive, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1I have got to try this thing by entering a strip club and observing.
Any females out there who would be interested in a scientific study....... - solarisom, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Love where technology is going. Although, probably going to raise the BP of the neurotic demographic...
- Mfrosty, on 04/10/2009, -1/+2Good buy for the hulk...
- doctorway, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Nice device, but wrong idea. 24-hour continuous blood pressures have marginal relevance in the outpatient world, since the treatment decision winds up being largely the same: crank up the blood pressure medication, shuffle it around, etc. Hypertension isn't that hard to diagnose with a regular cuff today.
Where there's more potential is in replacing invasive blood pressure monitors. For instance, during some types of surgery or in the ICU, or just for critically ill patients, a catheter is inserted in the radial artery, an artery in the wrist. In these cases, minute-to-minute blood pressures *are* necessary, because often times these patients are on medications which artificially raise or lower blood pressure.
It'll be advantageous to be able to monitor continuous blood pressures without the need for another tube sticking into a blood vessel, and the concomitant bleeding and infection risks. - pastymuncher, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1It is important that devices for measuring blood pressure have been clinically validated and proven to be accurate. - RajAtWork, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1all you need for that is the builtin poop analyzer
- tgc1, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1I think that is something we should have already. We're way behind.

Within 45 seconds, a microprocessor
computes your systolic and
diastolic pressure. Has an LCD
readout, and it's cost effective --
less than one visit to the doctor. - hollywoodphony, on 04/10/2009, -1/+1Oh snap! I'm gettin' that, yo!

Read at "10:19am PDT" - GeorgeTirebiter, on 04/10/2009, -4/+0Ever heard about the "doctor effect"? Merely being in a doctor's office increases blood pressure in some people. Imagine what that effect would be with the doctor around 24/7. Can't see the practical value in using this on most people.
- clemson11, on 04/10/2009, -5/+0Why is this worth promoting on digg?
- diskoh, on 04/10/2009, -6/+1Now they're monitoring our blood pressure? Welcome to Obamanation.
