She drove once (then I started hiding her keys when she took Ambien), would prepare entire meals in the middle of the night, and, yes, was certainly more open in the bedroom.
Being the good husband that I am, I took advantage of her reckless abandon every chance I got. ;)

There are 45 minutes of reports to 911 about him weaving from one side of the highway to another, knocking down a sign, and flashing his lights at people. He swung to the right and then back into the right hand side of a car that was pulled over to change a flat.
And the judge let him off because the Ambien bottle didn't have a warning about driving when this happened, but one was added a few months later.
Got away with murder. Period.

If I didn't go to bed and kept surfing the net, which is what I usually end up doing, the text on my screen starts to slightly swirl. Also a few times I would see things that in my mind I would make out to be other things. I would look in my closet and it would look like I'm seeing someone or something in it, but I didn't freak out because I knew it was just from the ambien.

Well, that night it turned three dimensional, rotated, then the dolphin turned into a salamander or gecko-like creature. It was really strange. I didn't think I would hallucinate from sleeping medication.

- ricksite, on 04/29/2009, -2/+14I get sick of all the Ambien hating. Ambien is much safer that previous generation sleeping pills (tranquilizers). It knocks you out and leaves your body to do the sleeping. I looked into the stories of people driving on Ambien. They had taken it at work so it would kick in by the time they got home. That's just stupid. These stories need to place the blame on not taking the drugs correctly as opposed to blaming Ambien directly.

He was with friends at a restaurant acting his normal healthy self when just after the meal was served, he passed out cold, face first into his entree. His wife and friends tried to arouse him without success, an ambulance was called, and he was brought to the hospital. All his labs, head CT and such were unremarkable. Nothing showed up on a urine tox screen. His wife, of course, was distraught and we really had nothing to offer her. So we put in a monitored setting and waited.. gradually, over the next several hours he began to come to. I was finally able to question him and learned a couple of interesting facts (why his wife wasn't able to provide this info I don't know--maybe too upset). First was that he had pancreatic insuffiency--people with this condition don't produce enough digestive juices, so they have to suplment them with enzyme pills prior to meals (or otherwise end up with malabsortion and smelly diarhea). He normally takes 6 of these pills before eating. The other thing I found out was that he takes Ambien for sleep.. and the pills are a similar size and shape.. and they are stored together in his dresser..
He was groggy for the next day or so but otherwise fine :-)
