- alapoet, on 10/03/2008, -1/+68Oh, great. Now I have to compete for a grunt job with all these newly unemployed fish.
OK, I'll stop my carping... - thegrantman, on 10/03/2008, -2/+64Feet and fish....two great smells together at last.
- OneRottenTomato, on 10/03/2008, -0/+43Just effing great. Now I will have to patronize unlicensed and shady fish in seclusion.
- DonWigler, on 10/03/2008, -1/+41Thank goodness we have these busybodies to protect us.
- SteelChicken, on 10/03/2008, -1/+37people need to be protected from everything for their own good!
get 'er done nannystate! - serif69, on 10/03/2008, -1/+36If you outlaw fish pedicures the only people who will have fish pedicures are outlaws.
- jjmac, on 10/03/2008, -0/+34We need a law to tell us not to let fish eat our feet?
Personally I don't see where the government whether local, state, or federal, has the right to tell you what you can and cannot allow to eat your feet. I can't believe that has to be said. - frieddonuts, on 10/03/2008, -0/+28It's an icthy practice, I'll give you that, but all of this nanny-state interventionism means these nail parlors can't pay their gills. Gonna have to rely on loan sharks. Government bassholes.
- twoyups, on 10/03/2008, -1/+28Well, how about a personal stash of these fish? It shouldn't be unsanitary to use the same fish for yourself.
- camiller, on 10/03/2008, -0/+26Darn, I was going to try this just for the Halibut.
- shutaro, on 10/03/2008, -1/+25I'm Floundering for a clever response.
- roijen, on 10/03/2008, -3/+26The fishies have no feetsies.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+22What the ***** happened to Seattle?
It gets crazier every month. The mayor has another PR storm brewing with what we in Seattle call "Nickelsville" -- a homeless tent-city that continues to be harassed by city government.

- damntourists, on 10/03/2008, -0/+18hey lets make children's touch tanks at the marinas illegal too while we're at it.
- smoothmann, on 10/03/2008, -5/+22Pedibear is gonna be sooo pissed
- mingie, on 10/03/2008, -0/+17i got a fish "pedicure" at a fish farm in Singapore last yr...it tickles. and some of the fish were way huge. its only unsanitary if you eat the fish after they eat your feet. (gross).
- crywolf4mac, on 10/03/2008, -0/+14you said that on porpoise.
- 3gibberish4q57, on 10/03/2008, -1/+15Is that Pedobear's foot fetishist cousin?
- AmyVernon, on 10/03/2008, -1/+15::groan::
- MorganMghee, on 10/03/2008, -0/+13It COULD be unsanitary. So can anything, we let restaurants stay open when they don't completely pass a health inspection.. we just grade them and let people decide if they want to take the risk.
- Wavemancali, on 10/03/2008, -2/+14Tell mommy where the bad fish asked you to touch it honey.
- bixby1, on 10/03/2008, -0/+12I knew it was wrong when i did it. sorry.
- camiller, on 10/03/2008, -0/+11Hey, don't blow a seal.
- jimbs, on 10/03/2008, -4/+15I don't like it when the state curtails the liberties of the people.
I also don't like it when weirdos prove that some liberties shoulded be curtailed.
Sigh. - elizabethb221, on 10/03/2008, -0/+11that's not a fish!
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+11Illegal? What a load of carp.
- Xeppo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+10In case anyone wants a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLLzKDhNz8o - enotswhat, on 10/03/2008, -0/+10so who is being harmed in this?
- LBobRife, on 10/03/2008, -1/+11If having trouble finding housing for homeless is the biggest problem in a city, the city is doing just fine.
- TheSabre, on 10/03/2008, -1/+11See what happens when the governments outlaw what a person can or can't do to their own body? Now people are going to be crossing state lines or getting fish pedicures in dark alleys...
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+10It's good to know that serious issues are being addressed.
- badenglishihave, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8Seriously. How the hell is this the government's business? What if I don't care that I catch a disease?
And guess what: if you don't think to yourself "gee, sticking my feet into the same fish bowl some other person did sounds unsanitary" you almost deserve to get sick. - netneutrality, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8I do agree. I thought the constitution was supposed to protect personal freedoms, not allow illheaded politicians to run nanny states. It's a bizarre law that isn't even based in common sense. Why not close public swimming pools and beaches as unsanitary too while they're at it? Oh and make it illegal to go outside; it's polluted out there.
- camiller, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9Your being dugg down Sole(ly) for your lack of effort.
- rald84, on 10/03/2008, -3/+10OM NOM NOM NOM

- Samsauce, on 10/03/2008, -1/+8Dude, The girl in the middle's bucket needs some sturgeon not guppies.
- BXRWXR, on 10/03/2008, -6/+13I heard it makes your feet numb.
NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM - Balath, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7When Washington can stop me from allowing fish to eat the dead skin off my feet, I'll care whether it's legal or not.
- pinchduck, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7seatbelt regulation: Good
hairdresser regulation: Bad
food regulation: Somewhat useless since almost no foreign food coming in is inspected. Still, it's good to have the locals well inspected.
pedicure-fish regulation: Bad
Pharmaceuticals regulation: Good (when it means we get good, high quality meds)
Pharmaceuticals regulation: Bad when it means smoking a joint gets you tossed in the joint
Vitamin regulation: Bad
Banking regulation: useless (see headlines to understand why)
On balance, some regulation is good. All the stupid ***** being regulated just to generate revenue for the state is bad. That is the nanny state, and that is what should be tossed out. - enantiodromia, on 10/03/2008, -2/+9That's pretty funny, coming from someone in Louisiana, which according to Federal tax data, is the #4 state in the union when it comes to an imbalance between how much a state generates in federal taxes, and how much Federal tax dollars they receive. For every $1 federal tax dollars LA produces, they take back $1.78. Damn leaches.
Which state you might ask, is #3? Well, it would be Alaska. Alaska takes $1.84 for every $1 they produce. Always have your hands out, don't you? Alaska is also the State with the redistribution of wealth that Palin is so proud of, but she calls it a "windfall tax", so that makes it not Socialism I guess.
In contrast, both California, and New York, you know, those evil Liberal states one step from Socializing your "hard earned dollars", they receive only $0.78 per $1 produced. I wonder where the remainder goes? Oh that's right.
Those tax dollars that New Mexico, Mississippi, Alaska, Louisiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, and Virginia receive to keep their states up and running, come from the New England States and California.
You're welcome. - inactive, on 10/03/2008, -1/+8They'd release a rapist to make room for you.
- TheCasablancan, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7What do you call a fish with no eyes?
A Fsh. - steve9924, on 10/03/2008, -1/+7this makes my stomach turn....
- dext3r, on 10/03/2008, -2/+8(fish pun here)
- Chairboy, on 10/03/2008, -0/+6That's certainly a heck of a way to thank them for their hard work.
- MRintheKeys, on 10/03/2008, -1/+7First it was horse beastiality and now banning of fish pedicures. Washington is no fun anymore.
- appleofdischord, on 10/03/2008, -0/+5Translation: Boy, you could really get a WHALE of an infection from something like that! But it seems like hard work, so I'll bet those fish really build up some MUSSELS! Whoever banned this is a real A-HOLE!
I especially like that last one. kuhliidae are referred to as aholeholes.
Yes, I did look all of those up. I am not an ichthyologist. -
