- wildfire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+60Was she eating lead before taking the photo to the right?
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -4/+57"WTF" and "Japanese" is redundant.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33maybe, that why she is smiling.
- travis712, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23The dentist is definitely on the top right, not left. Unless of course direction is opposite in Japan.
- Alphabet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22japan expresses emotion differently from everyone else. For the rest of the world, it's easier to show emotions by moving the mouth(smiling, frowning) but for japan, they use their eyes. You can tell from the smileys that japan vs the world uses.
For example, take a happy face:
For the world: :D
For Japan: ^_^
of course, it's changing over there in japan now. - nathanwalker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18FTA: It's even endorsed by a cosmetic dentist (the woman on the top left.)
Look at the pic. Someone needs to learn their left from their right. - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18Now, I know Japan is a magical place almost on the other side of the world filled with mind reading cellphones, videogames out the wazoo, and fancy bottles of soda sealed with marbles ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramune ), but I had no idea that left and right were reversed over there!!
Oh the wonderful world of Japan... :P - StiGUP, on 10/10/2007, -5/+21teaches u how to smile? ...or teaches you how to hit the g-spot and smile?
- ilkeryoldas, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Japan crazy
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16And another fetish is born...
- lukas88, on 10/10/2007, -8/+21That should be a warning sign of too much internet use: anything rubber and remotely elongated reminds you of a dildo.
- Memnochxx, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17I don't trust people who don't know right from left.
- GeneralReikan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14While studying abroad my fellow Americans and myself were asked to show our new friends how it was we smiled. They seemed to be under the impression that all Americans smile all the time and have very beautiful smiles. Something I was unaware non-Americans are lacking in. When we smiled at the absurdity of the question, they shouted, "Yes! Like that!" I won't go into culture discussion, but this might be something marketing to a "foreigners" desire to smile like an American. Thus, the American looking girl smiling on the package.
- D4r7h3v1l, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16Or too much dildo use.
- jhumps, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10i think you are right...
I embarrassed a few last week and big water drops appeared on the back of their heads... - Cyberen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Just relax and let the hooks do the work.
- stklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Why the ***** would you want to blend it?
- nathanwalker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5That theory would make sense if it wasn't an ENGLISH speaker who wrote the article. In ENGLISH.
- slicedoranges, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6That was me! You made a gigantic vein appear above my head too, jerk.
- GeneralReikan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Well, she sure as hell isn't Japanese. The subliminal assumption by the consumer is that she is American. It's called marketing.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I'm love watching japanese prank shows on YouTube. They have sent me into stitiches....this is my favorite.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52OBzh2khgU
- stklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Actually, your example is old.

(≧▼≦) / - diggmeup, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3big improvement though...
- ClOlD, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Lord knows I'M happier when chewing on a dildo.
Waitasec - is this mic on? - jggr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Um, not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but don't Oriental languages go top to bottom? And left to right even.
- pimpbot1979, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5You don't stick that in your mouth.
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3the most amazing thing the japanese put out is their game shows. check them out on youtube; they're absolutely hilarious. the simpsons show wasn't kidding when they stated that "here in japan, we punish ignorance" ...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2omg that's pathetic.
- insain, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There's 120 millions of them, actually.
- zappo1776, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ichi ban smile
- Scottamus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yea, It's amazing how sticking that in you mouth makes your eyebrows curve more and your eyes squint less.
BS. - resplence, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Looks like the Thatcher Effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thatcher_effect
- zappo1776, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Something I've noticed is that Americans and Japanese automatically smile when you stick a camera in their face. Europeans tend to pose straight faced.
- autoatsakiklis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1:)
- omniatlas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1could be helpful, my muscles are so damn tense -- dentist said so herself; so there could be some practical/medical use for this.
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Oh yeah. You ever import manga?
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Japanese don't read right to left do they? I thought just middle eastern languages were like that.
- Mikecol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought Japanese read top to bottom.
- Pother, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Did they use these in Stepford?
- Malakin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2From the same website, this is much more disturbing:
http://www.tokyomango.com/tokyo_mango/2007/03/rentablow_up_do.html - Radar5, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1would u expect anything less from japan?
- Elohim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes they do, Are people stupid or something?
- Elohim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1sometimes top to bottom, but usually always right to left
- SpenceMasta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1ummm read the comments...
