- Lucas123, on 07/14/2009, -1/+161I'm not taking the word of any British rock group. I want scientific evidence.
- madduffy, on 07/15/2009, -3/+130SHUT. DOWN. EVERYTHING.
- Bondheli, on 07/14/2009, -38/+128429 deaths up from 200 ish a month ago....
Meanwhile, in that time the standard flu caused 40,000 deaths.
Sounds to me like the drug companies have the WHO in their back pocket. - tattokris, on 07/15/2009, -5/+85If it is unstoppable why make a vaccine?
- DiggyWiggy, on 07/14/2009, -17/+91Mandatory vaccinations, please, at gunpoint if necessary! No need to determine if it's safe, there's no time!
- lead2thehead, on 07/15/2009, -4/+54I give up. WHO said it?
- DontThinkSo, on 07/15/2009, -3/+53CLOSE THE PORTS!
-Madagascar - TobiasParker, on 07/15/2009, -7/+48You are too clueless to realize that this flu doesn't need a vaccine because it isn't virulent enough to matter.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_flu_pandemic#Vir ...
"Evidence mounted through May 2009 that the symptoms were milder than health officials initially feared. As of May 27, 2009, most of the 342 confirmed cases in New York City had been mild and there had been only 23 confirmed deaths from the virus.[186] Similarly, Japan has reported 1,048, mostly mild flu cases, and no deaths[187], with the government reopening schools as of May 23, stating that the "virus should be considered more like a seasonal flu."[188] In Mexico, where the outbreak began in April, Mexico City officials lowered their swine flu alert level as no new cases had been reported for a week.[189]"
from the same article:
"In addition, at phase 6, many pharmaceutical companies may switch from making seasonal flu shots to pandemic-specific vaccine, "potentially creating shortages of an immunization to counter the normal winter flu season."[154]"
Great. - BrettSchu, on 07/15/2009, -0/+38Too late, ports are closed.

Global Institution loaded with cash announces yet another move to give money to close friends who helped put them in power....
More info at 11... - Gusbob, on 07/15/2009, -0/+33before that move to Madagascar if you can
- PopcornDave, on 07/15/2009, -0/+31Won't get fooled again will you?
- VitriolAndAngst, on 07/15/2009, -10/+37You are being dugg down based on the; "I have some inkling so I'm a genius on digg" factor.
Publiclurker above, thinks that having a NO vaccine for H1N1 is cause for panic.
429 deaths plus NO vaccine VS. 30,000 Deaths a year (average) WITH a vaccine.
I'll take option A; low risk for $200.
More than 429 people are going to get killed by vaccine related deaths folks. And with a only a few months -- how does anyone know that the vaccine is going to work in the first place -- not all of them do. And for that matter, how many people getting Flu vaccines realize that they are at least 18 months out of date by the time they get them, so it's like getting last years cold, then hoping that nothing infects you for two weeks while your immune system is going through Flu JR.
Vaccines are darned useful for some things, but on others -- many are not tested and not proven to have any effect at all.
But of course, we don't hear that on TV news because it might hurt some profits. Additionally; TAMIFLU is worthless. How can you have a dang omni-vaccine in the first place? You take it half-way through an infection to reduce the period of time you have the infection? Wow, for $80 bucks I'll suffer for 6 more hours and not worry about the complications of that damn experimental product.
>>> We take all these drugs without really doing the math. - shutaro, on 07/14/2009, -11/+33We're doomed, DOOMED I say! The end is near!
- BrownieMix, on 07/15/2009, -9/+28I don't see the problem here, regular flu kills more people than swine flu.
- bhawkeswood, on 07/15/2009, -5/+24The main reason they're still talking about this is the cyclical nature of these viruses... We get hit in spring with the first round, and then come fall, we get another round, which can be much worse than the first. The fact that this is now human-to-human and international makes it worrisome because it COULD mutate.
And yeah, pharmaceutical companies want to cash in. If you were a plumber and suddenly every toilet in your country needed fixing would you go pro bono?
I'm not worried though. I'll just kill those influenza bugs with a swing of my powerful dick. - bhawkeswood, on 07/15/2009, -0/+18"...not worry about the complications of that damn experimental product."
Like the fact that TAMIFLU can cause incredible bouts of depression and has been linked to a number of suicides? - VitriolAndAngst, on 07/15/2009, -7/+24Boy, I sure wish there were this sort of attention and a world-wide emergency called for things that might have more than a 1 in 10 million chance of inconveniencing me.
Let's call for a vaccine to keep me from slipping in the bath tub; that's about 10,000 times more likely. - fety, on 07/15/2009, -2/+19if the government had their way (which they might try to pull) yes..! then there'd be more deaths than the actual virus would kill off. (of course that's their plan, Google depopulation) People can have nasty reactions to any vaccine. Don't let those ***** bastards shoot you up!!!
http://www.radioliberty.com/pca.htm
"There are many means and methods of depopulation that are being employed today, the 3 primary of which include; unsustainable/exploitative international development, which leads to massive hunger, starvation and famine worldwide (at least 40 million deaths annually), the fomentation of war, hatred and military procurements throughout the nations leading to millions of deaths worldwide, and finially, the creation and spread of infectious diseases leading to global pandemic, plague and pestilence on an unprecedented scale. " - jaymzdean, on 07/15/2009, -2/+18I was sent here from the future to remind you folks of the 1979 swine flu event.
Gaggle it...or google it as you all say these days. - Naieve, on 07/15/2009, -0/+15Umm, publiclurker.... You might wish to understand that flu shots actually change yearly. They checkout what types of flu will be most prevalent, usually with a little research on what hit Asia, then mix up a cocktail for the regular flu, every single year. On average, they get it about 30-40 percent accurate. Which means much of the time its just a placebo.
So this year, instead of spending that time and money on regular flu which kills more people, they will spend it on H1N1 because thats what the government is paying them to do, because the Media hyped Swine Flu up to fill up their news and everyone bit... - sockpuppets, on 07/15/2009, -9/+24H1N1 mostly kills only fat people. Therefore, the vaccine is a diet.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601124&am ... - sulthernao, on 07/15/2009, -3/+18I think they mean that they are not able to isolate the virus and stop the spread.
- blorc, on 07/15/2009, -9/+23So the Flu has a vaccine and that many people still die? Sounds like vaccines are overrated.
- westyvw, on 07/15/2009, -0/+14See Spanish Flu 1918: See hygiene conditions of 2009.
- Codename46, on 07/15/2009, -2/+15The question is, will the vaccines be mandatory?
- republicker, on 07/15/2009, -0/+12GIVE ME ONE this ***** has to be green in color...
- austroLogi, on 07/15/2009, -2/+14absolute numbers don't matter, the figure that matters is its fatality rate. The regular flu has been around the block and what not, swine flu is just diseminating. Can you say that the cold is more deadly than ebola just because it has killed more in absolute numbers?
Listen, i am not "scare monger" and I really don't think twice about swine flu.. even tho the girl who sits next to me was diagnosed with it last week. But really i think that its probably a little more vicious than regular flu. - VitriolAndAngst, on 07/15/2009, -4/+15It's a feel-good opportunity.
I think we need to sell "pre Band-Aids" -- you know, just in case you think you might cut yourself. - LouisCipher777, on 07/15/2009, -0/+11you laugh at "new world order" yet even al gore is talking about world government.
everyone calls them conspiracy theories until they get proven right, "like what is happening right now with global government", and then those same people conveniently forget that they called them conspiracy theories. - fety, on 07/15/2009, -0/+10don't fall for their tactics!!
- dalittle, on 07/15/2009, -4/+14Is any of this lobbying by a major Big Pharma Corp hoping to cash in or are they all agreeing to do it below cost to be a good world citizen?
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -6/+16alefox is a BS digger made by the government's education system who wants to kill reason
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -2/+11Um, clearly it is.
This article says so and it's on the front page, meaning enough people agree that it's unstoppable... so it is.
Don't you know how this works? - raptorlightning, on 07/15/2009, -0/+9FLUZOMBIE APOCALYPSE

Madagascar, you won't ***** win IRL, not this time. - geoboy, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8WHY STOP AT ONE
- Chakat, on 07/15/2009, -1/+9The virus came from pigs, but has jumped to humans. Not eating pork will do diddly ***** in fighting this.
- brstilson, on 07/15/2009, -1/+9The World Health Organization regularly doctors studies in order to spread a pre-determined message. If they said the sky was blue I would still look twice.
- Codename46, on 07/15/2009, -1/+9Then maybe they're right.
- bysubmitted, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8I'm not asking you WHO said it!
- Barackalypse, on 07/15/2009, -9/+16Your comment contains too much common sense, I'm really surprised you didn't get flamed as a wingnut anti-vaxer.
- ygeoff419, on 07/14/2009, -8/+15damn, looks like I am going to get shot.....
- 1hrSleep, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7The thing about the flu and vaccinations as it is, they PREDICT which flu is most likely to infect the majority. Sometimes they get it wrong.
So, if it is wrong then those "vaccinated" weren't really vaccinated. - stuffradio, on 07/15/2009, -3/+10The Drug companies have the WHO in their back pocket? Which album would they be playing while being there!?
- PopcornDave, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7No a standard flue usually has a damper but thanks for trying.
