- JoyEllen, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1No, cardio does not develop your abdomen muscles. It strengthens your legs, lungs, and heart, and burns calories. Abdomen muscles are not used much in cardio. In his pull ups, the abdomen muscles are pulling his legs up, giving the abdomen muscles a great workout.
