- Anonymums, on 11/16/2008, -0/+0Even Prior to the reforms children were at risk, now these changes have just made things worse. The actual reform was bombarded with mens groups, some of them pretending to have most genders in mind but the agenda was pure selfish interests. It has no real consideration of the children. The shared parenting is a platform that can be used for fathers to gain sole custody if the mother states safety concerns as a reason for it not to go ahead. Now, 70% of battered mothers lose custody in America as "friendly Parent' provisions consider battered mothers as "maternal Gate keepers" and rarely get to the roots of the problem. Australia has just followed suit. We have a chance to prevent the same from happening if our government acts soon. Otherwise we might see the next generation completely traumatized and domestic violence the norm and fewer safety measures. Some good sites about these are:
