The way to a man's heart? Through his left ear
timesonline.co.uk — Research suggests that declarations of love, jokes, or words of anger are best remembered when they are heard through the left ear, while instructions, directions and non-emotional messages have more impact on the right side. But it's not just ears that are affected. The right eye has been shown to be best for processing colors

- stignordas, on 04/28/2008, -3/+30For me instructions and directions go in one ear and out the other. Either side works the same!
- Recluse, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2HARDY HAR HAR!

- bamafun, on 04/28/2008, -4/+3wish I had this advice handy a few years ago lol
- MaidenFan2358, on 04/28/2008, -1/+39Most surgeons agree that the best way to a man's heart is lateral cut through the torso epidermis, followed by a bone saw to the sternum.
- robotto, on 04/28/2008, -1/+10Actually no lateral cut, a midline cut is applied just applied just above the xiphoid bone.
- Barnolde, on 04/28/2008, -0/+30This is provided that his left ear is in his pants.
- ZiggityZhang, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3In that case I should probably be changing my earmuffs.
- ZiggityZhang, on 04/28/2008, -0/+13I wonder what she is whispering to him in this wonderfully generic stock photo.
- Aensland, on 04/28/2008, -0/+11Probably a generic stock quote?
- zantos420, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1"he doesn't even know i have aids"

- houndeyex, on 04/28/2008, -1/+6"Loving words - and angry ones - are likely to have the biggest impact through the left ear. The research at Sam Houston University of America, based on 1,120 people, showed that the subjects were able to recall more emotional words connected with love and anger when they were delivered though the left ear. When emotional words were presented in the left ear, the percentage of recall accuracy was 69 per cent compared with 56 per cent for the right ear."
Interesting. When I need to listen to someone, I move my headphones off my left ear. When my girlfriend is yelling at me on the phone, I have it up to my right ear. - vx69, on 04/28/2008, -1/+3It's good to know that this important research is being conducted.
- dathrilla, on 04/28/2008, -3/+2Left year? My left ball.
- hugepedlar, on 04/28/2008, -1/+7I'm deaf in my right ear you insensitive clod!
- greatgatsbyII, on 04/28/2008, -0/+6So maybe if the digg button was on the right side of the screen we'd have better stories on the front page.
- Erado, on 04/28/2008, -4/+0Hello,
The advice is a perfect one.
The problem here is the following: sometimes it may enter through one ear and come out through another simultaneously without having any effect. So your first task is to think a way due to which the received information will stay there and then figure whether you need left or right ear : -) - SimonDee, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2I'm deaf in my right ear. This explains ALOT.
- m4xn00b, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1This article is of no use to me. What about women?
- luckyguy2000, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1i guess its just the same.
- tymme, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure about you, but I don't know many guys that nurse infants, whether on their left or right arm.
- fatas, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1"Do you want to have a threesome with my girlfriend"
- awesometastic1, on 04/28/2008, -0/+3I have crap vision in my left eye and excellent vision in my right, which now apparently explains why I have a horrible time remembering faces. dugg for explaining something that has absolutely no practical use for me, but is now an interesting anecdote to tell at cocktail parties!
- petebert, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1I'm an air traffic controller and put my headset on the left side, but I am left handed so maybe this rule needs to be switched around for me.
- ritter99, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2bullocks. it's the looks that count. and the smell. hm size does matter too. how did these scientists ever get funding?? must've been women-scientists ...
- JoeVet, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Who are they trying to fool.....men don't listen in either ear.

- Musicmonkey34, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1they obviously dont remember george costanza's 1/2 deaf girl friend.
"i love you"
"i know, i heard you the first time" - UtilityPole, on 04/28/2008, -0/+0Interesting- but what about women? Is it their left ear, or their right ear?
- jimjoke, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1I never clean my right ear, so it all works out just fine.
- AutomaticTLC, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1oops.
- DrMatt, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Apply this information to what happens when you're driving. When the passenger is talking to the driver, what ear are you talking to? The ear that isn't hearing you! So, when your spouse is screaming directions at you while you're driving and complaining that you aren't listening... just tell her she's talking to the wrong ear...
- mnchrist, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1What about us left handed folks out there? Would this mean the same but in the opposite ear since most lefties are right brained? Hmmm..
- xMunzi, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1(Im deaf in my right ear)
*****. - Paulish, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1I learned this in math class! The shortest distance between any two points in a straight line! Duh! Whats all this ear stuff?
- parkernicky50, on 04/29/2008, -0/+0I don't know that, this is true or not? did somebody try it
