dailymail.co.uk — At this rate, scientists will have to come up with a better description for the tomato than mere 'superfood'. While it has long been credited with cutting cholesterol and preventing some cancers, the fruit now appears to have two more healthgiving benefits.

They spray them with ethylene to turn them at least some shade of red. Unfortunately the phytonutrient levels--and the flavor--don't reach their peak unless the fruit is allowed to mature on the vine. Articles like this manage to sell more tomatoes, but grocery store tomatoes are practically worthless to your body. Farmer's markets == win

I can tell you, I'm in college and my face still looks like if I still were in high school. I just found about this tomato benefit and I think I'll pick up the drinking habit again (tomato juice).
