- 4UIDigg, on 10/10/2007, -24/+244cool idea for a graph, but alcohol more dangerous than meth?? what are they smokin' !
- Zm3r3, on 10/10/2007, -14/+204WTF this shows nothing . . . apart from someones skill with publisher
Mean harm rating? What? It makes no sense. - valdo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+183"Does class 'A' absolutely guarantee the quality?"
- Ali G - DamageInc, on 10/10/2007, -32/+177Buried for the stars in the title.
- 1iProd, on 10/10/2007, -4/+122I neither dugg nor buried, due to stars in the title.
- nepawoods, on 10/10/2007, -11/+115Marijuana more harmful than solvents? Total *****. Furthermore, they compare black-market heroin with quality controlled alcohol?
- Dubbsacc, on 10/10/2007, -9/+83Meth?
- mongo25, on 10/10/2007, -4/+69If this internet graph says it, then it must be true.
- Nihilady, on 10/10/2007, -10/+64I seriously doubt that Cannabis is more harmful than Ecstasy or GHB - how many times have you watched a stoner's eyes roll around in their heads like they are hard-wired to car batteries, not to mention the multiple deaths from dehydration. A stoner has enough brain cells that are still functioning to know that when they get cotton-mouth it's time to chug a soda, people on X just keep pushing their bodies till they overheat and then die because their brains are boiling in their skulls.
- willcoll, on 10/10/2007, -11/+51most dangerous in terms of what? deaths? in that case marijuana should be dead ***** last.
- NinjaBoy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+41I was going to argue with you, but then I realized you posted this on the internet. Good point man.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -8/+48dugg and buried for stars in title
oh shi- - Samsong, on 10/10/2007, -2/+38Dude... If its on the internet.. It's true.
- rabidgnome, on 10/10/2007, -12/+43And cannabis is more dangerous than LSD. This is a seriously screwed up chart
- handsoffme, on 10/10/2007, -4/+35well, I think I would agree with that. no bad effects of LSD unless you go to high dosages. cannibus on the other hand definitely does have some negative long term effects to your lungs and possibly your brain. it's amazing how afraid of LSD everyone is in these times...the propaganda machine really has done some work.
- lukee, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33Dugg for not using a pixel graph.
- danomagnum, on 10/10/2007, -9/+39That's like saying shooting yourself in the face is less dangerous because less people do it.
- pap3rw8, on 10/10/2007, -1/+31This chart appeared in a British government report about drugs last summer. Here's the relevant pages for context, explaining what the scale means: http://cuberoot.us/docs/drugs.pdf
- sp1keNARF, on 10/10/2007, -7/+36Alcohol is probably more dangerous because of the social acceptance, availability, and number of users.
- jay12645, on 10/10/2007, -8/+33Buried for being a jackass
- daedalus779, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26yeah those ***** liquid crystal displays can be tricky.
- Calder0n, on 10/10/2007, -11/+34Weed more dangerous than meth and LSD? I call BS propaganda
Buried as inaccurate - Pssdoff, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24pixeled for not dugging a graph
BACON! - Fr4nk2012, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23Sounds like a kick ass party, but where are the Mushrooms?
- HyperJack, on 10/10/2007, -4/+24People should use more of those cool characters in titles.
Dugg for the first use of non-ASCII characters I have ever seen in a Digg title. - negativefx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21and i see the start of stars in the title of every digg article... encapsulating the words AMAZING AWESOME INCREDIBLE like a terrible adjective sandwich.
also, weed is more dangerous than SOLVENTS? this chart is a ***** joke. - Otto, on 10/10/2007, -11/+29★Buried★
- Antimatt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Oh cool. I'm in the clear. Caffeine and PCP are too safe for this list.
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19It's nice to know somebody uses such an objective method to analyze works of journalism.
- Seifey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Wait wait wait. LCD isn't any more dangerous than CRT..
- Reziarfg, on 10/10/2007, -6/+23Stars for the dugg in the title.
- WarpFox, on 10/10/2007, -5/+22dugg for bitch
- WarpFox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17LSD is one of the safest drugs known to man as far as body damage goes. But Solvents are way dangerous, Extacy can be too, as well as GHB (actually GHB is safe if dosed correctly, but that is VERY easy to screw up, and you have no idea how pure street ghb is)
- FrostySol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15They should have used a pixel graph instead!
- ats314, on 10/10/2007, -15/+29Cannabis measured as more dangerous than LCD and ecstasy is proof that this chart is retarted. Thumbs down.
- g30ff, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15They would have surveyed experts in the field (doctors, drug researchers, etc.) and asked them to rate each drug on afour point Likert-type scale. I'm inventing this here, but something like: 0=not harmful, 1=mildly harmful 2=harmful, 3=very harmful. They probably asked a whole bunch of other more specific questions that aren't shown here as well. The colours correspond to the legal status of the drug. So the graph shows, for example, that experts believe that drugs like LSD and extacy are less harmful than either alcohol or tobacco. However, despite the relative harmless of these drugs they have the same legal status as heroin and cocaine, the top life-ruining substances.
- persept, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17Ecstasy is actually very safe, it's just most pills also contain things like methamphetamine for an energy boost, and that can make it more harmful, especially at parties and such.
- enlightenme, on 10/10/2007, -10/+23This graph is retarded, and so are the people digging it.
- lukas88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Zm3r3 is right about one thing, it would be nice to know the criteria they used (as well as who the "independent experts" are, how many were there). Did they include erratic behavior that might result in injury/death, or is it just direct physical consequences? What about dependence or the likelihood of losing other interests after experiencing the drug? In other words, you can define "harmful" many different ways.
- cerpintaxt10, on 10/10/2007, -7/+19Cannabis more harmful than Ectasy? This things not accurate at all.
- Bajeda, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Please note that the "mean harm" rating is comprised of measures for both physical harm and estimated harm to society. The graph doesnt note this, so I can see how this graph would be confusing to many.
The article describing the methodology behind the graph was published in the Lancet. - fofusion, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Why the need for [bar graph] - Is this a hint that users will go nuts till there's a bar graph section on digg :-o
- Tiak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12No, it's like saying that if it was widely socially acceptable to shoot yourself in the foot in the middle of a party, people would be at a larger risk for foot-shooting related deaths, than the unpopular face-shooting ones... I fdon't believe this is what the graph is counting, but it makes sense.
- j3one, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11OH GOD. Now it starts with funky characters spamming our titles..
- xenodata, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Here is the Article to go along with the graph:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6474053.stm - LegOfLamb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Cannabis is non-neurotoxic (it does not damage the brain). It is not more dangerous than LSD; the reason the graph is organized that way is because it takes into account the social effects of the drug. People are more likely to use marijuana often (thereby leading to higher chances of social harm) than LSD (i.e. LSD is less likely to affect your relationship with your family, friends etc). They are both fairly safe, but if you think you could take acid instead of pot everyday and be healthier than the pot smokers, you are kidding yourself.
- SchmidtHappens, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I can't see the stars...they just show up as question marks. ???★★★???
I wanna see them! How? - stupergenius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I use my LCD everyday, it's not dangerous at all!
- Treshnell, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14Buried for not using a pixel graph
